I'm very much an amateur photographer, new to my Fujifilm XT-1, and I have a question. I travel a lot and when I'm out I leave my camera on to be ready for quick shots. After a while the camera goes off, which is good. But when I want to take the next shot, it takes a while to get the camera to come back on. Is there a trick to this? What am I doing wrong?

I don't know if this would be better- but I find if I let the camera go off,  then when i am ready to take a picture, its faster to turn it off and then on again than to wait for it to wake up using shutter press.

End result:  I've learned to just turn it off after I shoot----plus this saves the battery also, which tends to run down if you leave viewfinder/LCD on!

Thank you.  I just got back from seeing The Great Wall and The Forbidden City.  The wind chill factor was minus 12 degrees, but my XT-1 did very well.  I just took the 35 lens and it was beautiful.  I did just turn the camera off and on.
