  1. Hope it is not inappropriate to post this: based on the Admin hint above about Rico's book-I got it- and wanted to point out that It is fantastic. You can download the whole thing from Rocky Nook . Also some may be interested to note (from his web page) that: "By upgrading your Fujifilm X-E2 with firmware 4, you are giving up the camera that you knew: Your X-E2 will turn into an X-T10—only with a rangefinder design. I am not kidding! As long as you can see beyond the different form factors (rangefinder style vs. SLR style), my X-T10 book is now almost perfectly applicable. It really is, because Fuji did a terrific job transforming the X-E2 into an X-T10 with camouflage. This means that my X-E2 eBook won’t be updated. It doesn’t have to, because the update is already here. To ease the transition, my publisher has created a coupon code that will give you a discount of 50% on all editions of my X-T10 book (printed, eBook and combined). Simply enter XT1050 in the coupon field when you check out. (and XPERT40 for the XT1 book)
  2. Greetings Just went through a similar process in debating XT1 v Pro2. A friend who has both convinced me that the XT is perfect for my needs; slightly smaller but with plenty of power for just about anything I want to do.Though I am moving over from years of Canon products (e.g. not new to photography) I can't imagine needing any more than the XT for a new hobby. The sale prices on these is an added bonus.
  3. Great link- thanks, all , for the guidance. I'm loving the XT despite concerns about moving over from Canon, but I sure have a lot to learn!
  4. Does anyone have information about why/when one would use the Continuous IS mode as opposed to IS 'shooting only' on the XT/Xe2? Since the lens has the control for IS, why is there a menu setting, in shooting menu 5, to alter this? and is there some reason to have it on continuously? thanks for some insight here!
  5. I don't know if this would be better- but I find if I let the camera go off, then when i am ready to take a picture, its faster to turn it off and then on again than to wait for it to wake up using shutter press. End result: I've learned to just turn it off after I shoot----plus this saves the battery also, which tends to run down if you leave viewfinder/LCD on!
  6. Wow! thank you!! that is exactly what happened. I don't know why the default went from Add to copy, since in the past Add has normally opened when I import, so I never thought to look at that. Much appreciate your reply!
  7. Nope. I don't have that checked- and oddly, am doing nothing different than when I would import from Canon. I don't know if this helps, but I've attached two screen shots of what happens: The first shows the LR screen when I select import, and choose the testing file in Digipic2016 fuji where there are 3 new files (out of 8) to import. The second screen shot is what LR did with the 3 new images- put them in "pictures" and didn't alter the Digipic testing fuji which still has 8.
  8. I'm having a tough time getting LR 5.6 from importing Fuji XT1 files into a file it creates called "pictures" . I'm importing from memory card to desktop folder, and have long been using that system with Canon, and LR would import images into similarly named folders in LR. When I try to do that with my new XT LR insists on putting imports into a new folder, rather than using the set up I have.....and I have to drag images into the folder i created initially in LR to hold these....what am I missing? thanks for any insights!
