Painful wait! Having used their i40, I can only imagine how good the i60A will be!

But what about the Air 1? Yeah, I'd prefer this to the i40 as an on-camera TTL (HSS?) flash, but without an available transmitter, I'll stick with manual Yongnuos and FlashQ. Am I missing something?

as a noob who understands nothing from flashes, how does this compare to the newly announced Fuji flash?

It is essentially a lower cost alternative.  You would need to compare the spec's of the two to see how they differ as I'm sure there are small differences.  But having a lower cost alternative helps give us more options!

I see on the B&H site that the new iNissin i60A is scheduled for release week of Sept 19th.

 

Anyone on this forum know if it will give TTL on the new XT2?  Since the i40A does not give me TTL on my new XT2 ... I'm searching.

I got to play with an i60A recently, on a X-T2. Sadly, TTL was the ONLY thing that worked. Apparently MANUAL doesn't work yet on it, not sure if it was one that needed an update or not though. Either way, it was such a bad experience, my friend sent it back immediately. 
Also, if planning on using the wireless features, it is only a RECEIVER, the transmitter has not yet been released, and the Nissin AIR receiver doesn't have passthrough, so no flash would be able to be used ON camera anyways at the same time, so I'm waiting for Godox to jump in the game. There's rumors swirling about them having something awesome and I'm hoping dearly for it!

I would love to hear more information about this! Where did you hear the godox rumors? I LOVE my godox flashes, if they release a Fuji ttl version of the 860 I would never need any other flash.

If someone knows when the i60A gets the next fw update, please give a shout here. And please let me know how I can spot the difference at the retail shops.
