RUMOR: Here is the VERY Affordable Price of the XF35mmF2! ... and of the 1.4x Teleconverter!

If it is true that it will cost only €399 this will be enticing for many of us to buy it.

I’ve sold mine, the 35mm 1.4 for not much less than that, in as good as new state, after a little more than one year. That lens has a theoretical price of €549 in the NL.

But in reality when bought it in combination with a camera, its price is seriously smaller than that. So, if you buy a XE-2 with a body price of €699 you pay €1039 with the 35mm 1.4, bringing the price of the lens to only €340.

So I should expect that this lens might cost €399 on its own and a lot less if sold with a camera that they are either trying to get rid of or to promote. The kit of a WR lens with a non WR body like the X-T1 would make little sense but maybe it will be offered or the last of the X-E2 bodies will go for sale at a slashed down price.

Either way this is very promising especially for those, like me, who are not hand up on having a lens a little more light efficient than another.

Another thought.

If this is the price, sell your old 35mm as soon as you can because prices will be tumbling down as soon as the other comes onto the market.

That is over $50 more than I just paid for a brand new 35 1.4.

I thought they would be less.

Boxed lens only or bundled with a camera? I've paid approx. 233 EUR for my XF 35/1.4 as a kit (with X-T1 and 18-55/2.8-4), but regular price is twice as much.

Don't forget this is a completely new lens and it's price tag includes "early adopter tax".

Hmm, just under £300 in the UK at that price, so maybe a bit cheaper for 'real'? Still, that's an ok price I guess, and if the focus speed is improved much over my 1.4 I might just sell my 1.4 and get the new lens. If it weighs less than the 1.4, even better, although physical length doesn't look to be that much different.

Obviously prices vary greatly, abroad  unfortunately they don’t in the Netherlands, all shops seem to always use the same tuning fork ( to the penny!) buying in other countries is a possibility but only if within Europe otherwise any savings will be used to pay the VAT (21%) at entry or shipping charges and the mysterios fee for “ handling through customs" , besides international guarantee is one year ( and they are always fussy about it) while national guarantee in any country of Europe is at least 2 years and my shop offers 3 to 5 years sometimes.

Some women say that girth is much more important then length :-)

Retail box brand new from B&H. Digital Rev currently has them for $409.

EUR price might include VAT (15-27%, AFAIK), that makes a substantial difference.

I am new to this forum. I have never heard of Digitalrev. Are they reputable..ship to US. I am thinking of ordering the 35 1.4 from them...

Thanks for input

I have some good experiences with them. They provide their own U.S. warranty if a company won't cover a problem. Sometimes their shipper DHL will send you a customs bill after the fact, but DigitalRev will refund the same amount back on your card if you let them know, then you can forward the amount to customs.

Really good pricing on a lot of the Fuji stuff.

    • So I ended up getting and X-H2 over the X-T5 because of a good deal that came up.  Needing to buy a card, I needed to figure out,  what is the real impact of a card's speed for photos?   In particular, I'm going to test how shooting at 15 FPS will differ between: Angelbird - AV PRO CFexpress B SE - 512 GB and Angelbird AV PRO CFexpress SX - 160 GB. How many shots can I get off before buffer fills, and how long does it take for the buffer to clear?    MOP: X-H2 Factory rest, card formated, no lens (body cap on), performance boost on, manual exposure, mechanical SS @ 1/8000, IS off, Shoting RAW Compressed Lossless with only one card in. Held shutter release till buffer filled, and used stop watch to see how long for buffer to clear. Subtracted two frames from total taken as that's how long it takes me to release the trigger once the buffer is full. Repeat 2x for sanity check.   ***TEST RESULTS***   ~~~64GB Lexar Pro SD 150MB/s~~~ 75 shots to fill buffer, 36 Seconds to clear it   ~~~Angelbird AV Pro SX 160GB~~~ 251 shots to fill buffer, 5 Seconds to clear it   .~~~Angelbird AV Pro SE 512GB~~~ 232 shots to fill buffer, 4 Seconds to clear it     ***Conculsion***   If burst shooting an X-H2 at 15 FPS is your thing, buy the Anglebird 512GB SE for the same price as the 160GB SX.   Below is a shot on X-T2 w/ the Fuji 70-300. I manged to fluke it off with a dead battery by turning the camera off and on again, and squeezing three more shots out (this was the last shot).   Ta for now!

    • Xt5 firmware updated and now cannot see pics taken on lcd when pressing playback. Any ideas please? Elie
    • Have you tried a factory reset? Maybe you changed unintentionally a setting?
    • Hello. I have a x-s10 that I use multiple lenses with. Yesterday I noticed that with the Fujinon 16mm lens I'm having issues auto-focusing. It works on video but not for still images. When I half press the button it focuses a bit then when I release the button it snaps back to the previous focus point. Even though it manages to focus the image is still blurry. Any ideas please. I already did a a major google search and nobody has mentioned this issue. Thanks, Etienne
