Going to use my X-T4 for video recordings at my video club. I can't seem to find any information about whether the X-T4 accepts an external time code input (e.g. Timecode Systems Ultrasync One) or whether I have to use an audio track to take the time code. Anyone know of any info?

(I am aware that the X-T4 can generate time code, but that's not what I am asking. )

Nope. I've tried all different ways and no joy. I tried putting a timecode on an audio track but couldn't get Tentacle Sync (Windows version) or LTC Convert to read it. (Tried this route as Premiere doesn't read timecode from the camera) The last two might be my fault though.  I wonder if the new HS2 will accept it?

Hi Chas,

I am just fallen into the rabbit hole of investigating how to upgrade my X-T4's video sound...

Loving the idea of time code sync, I am now quite concerned that the X-T4 doesn't support it, although I have already seen different statements on the net, like here:

I have to admit, this guy's "explanation" gets quite confusing in his further discourse ...:)

BUT, as you wrote that you use Tentacle Sync for Windows!, did you also try with their windows-only software "Time Code Tool" which you find here?:
https://tentaclesync.com/timecode-tool

Would love to here if you found a workaround with the XT4

Best,

Simon

The Tentacle Sync Timecode tool is the one I tried. I couldn't get it to work. But that is probably my fault, not the software. I seemed to get a file, but I couldn't turn it into anything meaningful.
