I’m going to be in your neck of the woods in two weeks! Love to hear some tips on where to eat and go for street photo opportunities.

this has my vote too. If I were to invest in a zoom for Fuji for a one lens only experience that biases towards light and compact, that’s the lens. This may help…

I have a pelican 1510 for travel purposes; the retractable handle and roller wheels are great features and fits in the overhead nicely. It’s waterproof and floats, so it’s my go to for camping or whitewater rafting. I originally used it for my canon gear, but need to get new foam inserts for retasking it for the Fuji stuff. kindly ignore the poor space utilization.

The 27mm f/2.8 MkII seems to qualify for me.

Try pushing the "DISP" button and cycle through the screen view iterations.

I actually have this lens, since prior to getting the X-T5, I was using a 5D mkIII. I still have that camera, but now it’s only duty is/was to be paired with the TS-E 17mm f/4 for the times I use or need it. I’ve been mulling over getting the Fringer pro II to just try it out and see what limitations I’d be running up against, and if it’s good enough where I can get rid of the Canon body. The added resolution with the X-T5 is nice, but obviously I’ll be losing with the crop factor. I typically use it to create stitched images more than parallax correction, so it may work out.

Since I’m going to Spain soon, I wanted a light and effective way to back up my SD cards every day during the trip. There were some old and no longer available devices on the market, but all had limited capacity and rather expensive... or bulky. I came across a neat project that uses a Raspberry Pi zero 2 (this is a much faster version of the old Pi zero) and also supports Wi-Fi. I made one, designed a custom case for it that I 3D printed (I have files for anyone that wants to to this project), and can say it works extremely well. The device is extremely simple, plug in a target storage device (in the pictures I have an extremely tiny crucial 4 terabyte ssd drive - the square thing), plug in a card reader (in the picture it’s that very compact usb stick so no cables needed), and it will automatically back up what’s on the SD card. It won’t overwrite files, only add new ones, and recognizes different SD cards so it makes separate folders for each unique SD card. It has a screen that shows transfer status, and while idle shows you the ip address so you can log into it with a phone and web browser. The thing is, with a portable battery, you can do this without even being near an outlet, and entirely in the field or on the go. pics Lens cap for scale here’s some screen shots if you want to log in You can also get thumbnails of images, but that takes way too long to generate, so I leave that function off the project can be found here - https://github.com/outdoorbits/little-backup-box the hardware portion isn’t entirely concise, if if people make this for themselves I can share what I got and from where. The main parts list are: raspberry Pi zero 2 four port usb hat - https://www.adafruit.com/product/3298?gclid=Cj0KCQjwlPWgBhDHARIsAH2xdNdICMYNwWVgb1i4BRLETI_8Mrep_RZf8hiQgtu4lT8W80hEM3GsQvEaAlU1EALw_wcB and the OLED display (make sure if you get it from adafruit to get the pigtail connector) - https://www.adafruit.com/product/938 the best thing is, you can use any low power ssd storage drive, and if you need more space, just get more drives. for the usb card reader, I got this, that’s in the image - SD Card Reader, uni USB SD Card... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087QG75L7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share for the large storage I am using this - Crucial X6 4TB Portable SSD – Up... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08W1KDM9K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I hope this helps someone looking for an on the road backup solution, and is a tinkerer like me.

I’m a Patreon of Hugh Brownstone, and I initially shared this there for free and open use. Im sharing it here too because I want to pay forward to our great community! As a historical zoom user that’s now focused on using primes in a travel light/work fast mindset on top of using an entirely new camera system (and an avid tinkerer), I designed two things to help with the need of an extra hand while on the move. If you like it, I’ll send anyone the files so you can have them printed for yourself at one of several recommended places (cost is under 25 bucks). The first is a double rear lens cap that allows me to securely stack two lenses in a much more compact way, and also allow for fast storing of two lenses when putting one back. (Please excuse the horrible iPhone images to follow). Then I made a part that slides into a peak capture clip and becomes a temporary third hand to temporarily hold a lens while you shuffle on another. It holds tenaciously though I’d not put on a xf 8-16mm (though I made one that would work with that lol). I’m openly offering this to everyone as a pay it forward gesture to help out and contribute to the craft. I hope this isn’t violating anything, but it’s offered without any expectation. And in case the question comes up, yes, it’s easily modified to accommodate any other lens mount system, which I’ll happily do if requested. With the DPreview forums going away the audience to share such community gear contributions has sadly diminished. I love Hugh’s platform to stimulate the craft of photography, but I also have an enginerd side that’s lost a place to discuss. That’s why, I suppose I became an architect - not talented enough as a fine artist, too unfettered to be an engineer :p. I've added the step files to my grabcad gallery, so feel free to download them and use them how you please, but if you read apt them I ask that you give me appropriate credit for the work I have done... now if you don’t have access to a way to print, I at the end of the description in each grabcad page I did add a link to a preset shapeways page to have it made and sent to you (globally). I do get a dollar or three margin over if you sent the *FREE* file to them to have it printed, for full transparency. Double cap - https://grabcad.com/library/fujifilm-double-ended-rear-cap-1 Capture clip - https://grabcad.com/library/fujiflim-x-mount-capture-clip-lens-holder-1 Capture clip, but vertical support for heavier lenses like a zoom - https://grabcad.com/library/fuji-x-mount-capture-clip-vertical-lens-holder-1 Some technical drawings for the nerds... Enjoy!

I’ve found the X-T5 to be a capable camera for motor sports.
Edp replied to Edp's topic in Fuji X-T5 / Fuji X-T50
I’m new to Fuji, coming from a life-long affair with Canon. My only experience with Fuji has been with this X-T5 (which has been pure love from the get go). As far as the Viltrox 75mm goes, it’s going to be an iconic lens for the x-mount (in my opinion of course). Strictly speaking on IQ and build, it’s a must have, but at the price? Then it becomes an absolute no-brainer. I’ll be surprised if the price of 549 doesn’t go up by 100 within a year. It’s a flat out bargain. Thanks for the kind words on the images! -
I was at Sebring this last weekend, and took the opportunity to put the x-t5 and the viltrox 75mm f/1.2 (both with current firmware) through its paces. I’m happy to report that the AF system was easily up to the task. The shots I’ve managed to finish processing are here… Sebring 2023 I had also rented a xf150-600 from lensrental.com to see if I would like it. It unfortunately too much lens, and offered few chances for being used. The 75mm focal length was near perfect. I did get to also use my XF 18mm f1.4 r lm wr which is a stellar lens as well.

Indeed. Since this forum is “brand new” enough to have a better chance to get my desired username, I managed to get a forum name more appropriate for me. On dpreview I had fo use a gaming username (Nuramori) since that forum was so old someone already grabbed what I would have used 😛

Glad to find a new home! Born and raised in Philadelphia, but dragged kicking and screaming to Atlanta by my now wife 28 years ago, I’ve been passionate about photography since I was 11. First camera was a Canon A-1, and built my own darkroom at 12. I recently moved from canon gear to Fuji and have loved it. I only have some residual Canon stuff to specifically support the TS-E 17mm I keep for professional needs. For my actual profession I’m an architect, and have my own firm.
