  1. The Fuji is definitely capable - it's all about getting enough distance between the subject and the background.
  2. Look like the XT2 is the same price in US Dollars as here in the UK - I know US prices don't include Sales Tax but all the same it's another case of the UK Consumer getting charged more. I decided to go for the 16-55 lens in the meantime as it has £145 cash back and look at the body again next year when the XT2s is released - maybe the XT2 will come down again then.
  3. I have the X-E2 - essentially the same image quality as the XT1 - so I wasn't in a rush to get the XT2 either but was waiting on the right offer to come along to make it more affordable. So, I'll be waiting now until the XT2s or XT3 is released and then hopefully the XT2 will come down again.
  4. I know the pound has been devalued recently but to the tune of £200? That's nearly a 15% increase in the price. I was all but set to take advantage of the cash back offer this autumn but that increase means that I won't be buying it at the moment.
  5. So, Fuji are offering a £95 cash back deal this autumn in the UK - shame they've just put the price up by £200.00 then!
  6. Glad to know I'm not the only one then - I've written to Fuji but no reply yet.
  7. Ever since I updated the firmware on my Fuji X-E2 when I import RAW files into Lightroom 5 they are automatically cropped to something like a 16:9 ratio and I have to hit reset to return the files to the 3:2 ratio they were shot in. JPEG files are ok. Anybody else having this problem?
  8. Smudge on the front element seems to have been the problem.
  9. Might have found the problem (apart from me being an idiot) gave the front element a good clean :-) Quick test shot attached - weather wasn't great today so it's not one of my best but the starbursts are much better!
  10. Possible I guess - although I took some shots with my 18-55 that came out ok, so hopefully the problem is just with the lens and not the body. I'm sending some sample files to Fuji Uk to see what they think.
  11. Anybody else having problems with getting good starbursts with the 10-24mm lens - or is this scene just asking too much of the lens? These are SOOC JPEGs and the camera settings were: ISO 800, 30 secs at f16 and f11

  15. Just back from a cruise around the Greek Islands and I took my Fuji XE2 with 18-55mm and 10-24mm. The 18-55mm was on my camera 95% of the time with the 10-24mm making the odd appearance for wide interiors.
  16. I'm trying to save up for the ONA Prince Street: http://www.onabags.com/store/messenger-bags/the-prince-street.html?color=field-tan Would love the leather but might have to settle for the waxed field tan.
  17. I've just recently bought an XE2 as a alternative to my full frame Nikon for travelling light and I'd hate to see them ditch the RF style too. I was considering the XT1 but the offers on the XE2 were too good - but now I have it, I quite like the RF styling. Hopefully we'll see the RF style continue with the X Pro 2 and XE3 (or X Pro 20). It would be brilliant if they could update the firmware on the XE2 to bring it in line with the other cameras though.
  18. I think a few folks have mentioned this already but perhaps the XE3 will be a 'light' version of the new X-Pro 2 so that you have the XT range (DSRL style) XT1 and XT10 and then the X-Pro range (Rangefinder style) X-Pro 2 and X-Pro 20.
  19. Thanks Maurice - interesting comparison. I'm not convinced yet - I wanted to have a system that was smaller and lighter than my full frame Nikon and that might be creeping back up in size too much again. I think I need to get to a shop to try it out in the hand. Comparison with D610 and 28-300mm: http://camerasize.com/compact/#493.359,493.426,486.329,ha,t
  20. I currently have an XE2 with the 18-55mm and 10-24mm lenses. I'm going travelling soon and have just spotted that (in the UK) there's £150 cash back on the Fuji 18-135mm and I'm quite tempted to get it to give me more versatility on holiday. However, I'm a bit worried that it might be a big on the large side when paired with the XE2 - anybody got that set up and how do you find it as a carry around all day unit?
  21. I recently swithered over this question for ages too as I'm about to go on holiday soon and bought an XE2 with the 18-55 for travel. I was all set to go for the 14mm until I realised that, with the cash back offer that was on at the time, the price was almost the same, so I got the 10-24mm. Yes, it's a little bigger but I'm used to a full frame Nikon so it still feels smaller and lighter to me. Also take a look at the Zack Arias guide to Fuji lenses: http://dedpxl.com/fuji-x-buyers-guide-part-2-lenses/
  22. I hope they do make an XE3 - I don't see why they can't have an XT line (DSLR style) and an XE/X-Pro line (Rangefinder style).
