photonongrata got a reaction from jurgenonland in 27mm is the fuji best lens
I looooooooove the 27mm f/2.8. If it's sunny out, I'm probably out using it It's amazing how tiny and versatile it is. Here's one of the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Seattle, Washington.

photonongrata reacted to Hermelin in FUJIFILM will develop an XF 8-16mmF2.8 WR lens
Would rather see a "budget" UWA lens to go with the 18-55 f/2.8-f/4
Maybe something like 10-18 f/4

My X-Pro2 has signs of wear on the exposed edges and I am quite careful. I think it has to do with Fuji emmulating Leica Black paint M's. As you probably know, they "brass" as they wear from use. Fuji even had a simulated worn X-Pro on display at one time, if I recall correctly. Personally, I would prefer if they anondized the finished to make it less prone to paint wear.
That said, I plan to keep my X-Pro2 for a very long time. For me, the XP2 addressed the issues with earlier generations - 24MP sensor, much faster AF and the X Pro processor. I've just applied a lot of gaffers tape to protect the edges. After a few years, perhaps I'll remove it and let the wear and tear patina take hold.

In 20+ years of using Canon bodies and lenses I've never owned or sold one that didn't look pristine. Fuji, not so much. I already see small places where the paint has chipped off my 6 month old 16-55. I believe these are the result of the slightest contact with a plastic zipper as it is inserted and removed from my camera bag. Whether or not one considers this a big deal, it *shouldn't* happen. Clearly processes exist to apply a durable finish to bodies and lenses. Fuji should be using them.

photonongrata reacted to quincy in Complete Overview over the available and upcoming Fuji X-Mount lenses
Hey folks,
I've updated the OP with all the new information, except the "cen" lens yukosteel found on ebay. I just can't find any more information about the lens or the manufacturer, so I have to schedule that one to "later".
@photonongrata: Thank You. This list has become the "community project" I wanted it to be, with everyone contributing by posting new stuff and discussing, which in return makes me happy.

photonongrata got a reaction from Sluw in Would you dump your 14mm and 23mm for a 10-24 zoom? - Why or why not?
Like all things, the answer is "it depends."
If I was shooting for a client, I would get the 10-24, easy. If I was shooting for me, hell no, give me the primes.
I take better photos with primes. Exploring a scene with a single focal length and really getting your mind into that focal length is a much better way for me to work, if I'm not under the gun. Plus, I like the increased sharpness and typically lower distortion, and predictable distortion.
Why not just set a zoom at one focal length and not change it? Yeah right, I don't have that kind of self control!
But for a client, psh, no question, give me the zoom, I'm not gonna miss the shot my client wants chasing perfect.
This is basically how I feel about zooms vs. primes across the board.

I used this list as reference buying a used lens a couple of days ago. It was SUPER useful. Thank you so much for your work!

Agreed, except I don't think they really need to speed it up, as much as they need to remove that delay when moving straight across the frame. The delay makes it feel painfully slow. It needs to have the option to make it full speed continuous movement in any direction, for people like us.
Yes this is sort of a workaround, but I got used to it very quickly after purchasing the camera and now I don't think about it. It took me one day to be exact, at a corporate event, before I was used to it.The fact that this way is faster, made it easier for me to adjust to it. I've used it at probably 8 or 10 weddings so it's sort of ingrained in the way I compose by this point.
I never really used 325 focus points so I can't comment on that. 91 was a lot for me to be honest, but I'm used to it now.
I actually preferred shooting with 9 focus points or less with Canon, but that was a different beast altogether.

Yeah, still, the X-T2 isn't nearly as bad as the X-Pro2. I had that thing for a month and babied it but it was still all scratched up by the end. Contrast that with my six year old Pentax K-5 that's been through hell and back and still looks and works just like it did when it came out of the box---nary a scratch. All the reviewers who tell you these things are "built like tanks." have obviously never handled anything not made entirely out of plastic.
