  1. Didn't see anything on this. Does anyone have any advice on how to carry the 50-140 while mounted to a camera? Wondering if the lens would put too much weight on the actual camera mount. Is it safe to keep the camera strap attached, or should I attach a sling strap directly to the the tripod mount on the lens?
  2. I used the XF 16mm, XF 23mm (1.4) and the Rokinon 12mm f/2. Shot everything inside on a tripod, long exposure.
  3. I hear that. The X-Pro2 is a beautiful camera, and I really did love shooting with it, so it was a little bittersweet, but a second X-T2 will make more sense.
  4. I shoot freelance for The New York Times, and last weekend I brought my X-T2 to an assignment for the real estate section. (My photos are the house in Athens, TN) http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/18/realestate/compare-homes-in-athens-tennessee-chicago-illinois-and-galisteo-new-mexico.html The X-T2 did a stellar job. And, over the course of that assignment, I decided to sell my X-Pro2 so I could buy another X-T2. The bigger viewfinder on the X-T2 is a lot more comfortable to use as a glasses wearer.
  5. These are great! Not sure I'll ever shoot something like this, but I'm very impressed with the X-T2's capabilities.
  6. I get that. Got one last week and decided I liked the viewfinder (glasses wearer) better than my X-Pro2, so I've sold my X-Pro2 to buy another X-T2 and now we'll just have to see who gets it in stock.
  7. Coming back here to share my thoughts after a couple days of shooting (including an editorial shoot for the NYT) with the X-Pro2 and the X-T2 side-by-side. I wear glasses, and typically even wear them while shooting because it's less hassle in the morning, and more comfortable on long days, than putting in contacts. The X-Pro2 has been with me since March and I've absolutely loved it. About as soon as I put the X-T2 to my eye, I started questioning whether I would keep the X-Pro2. The bigger viewfinder on the X-T2 is much more comfortable for me to use wearing my glasses. When I have my contacts in, the difference in size isn't a huge deal. I love the rangefinder style of the X-Pro2, but my eye loves the viewfinder on the X-T2. Other than that, the only thing that makes me think I'd like to have another X-T2 is the tilting LCD. I never in my life thought I would say something like that. But I shot some real estate with the X-T2 on a tripod and tilting the LCD was a life saver when I was behind the camera in corner and couldn't bend down to the viewfinder, or to look at the LCD straight on. Having a hard time thinking of compelling reasons to keep the X-Pro2. :-/
  8. Lots of topics in this forum to check out, but nothing beats using the camera and asking questions or checking out the user's manual. Congrats!
  9. Hah. I guess this has been a learning experience. I've never been told I have an astigmatism, but it's highly likely. Shooting vertically doesn't produce any issues in that area of the viewfinder, so it must be my eyeballs. Happens when I wear my contacts too. It's still a better viewfinder for me than the X-Pro2!
  10. First of all, I'm seriously considering selling my X-Pro2 to buy another X-T2, simply because I wear glasses a lot more often than contacts and the difference in size between the two viewfinders is huge for me. Also, maybe this is because I wear glasses, but I seem to notice a weirdly out-of-focus area in the upper righthand side of the viewfinder. I can't seem to get a photo of it with my phone, and my brother thinks it's because of the angle at which I look through the viewfinder, but I wanted to see if anyone else sees something like that. It almost looks like the diopter setting is off, but the rest of the viewfinder is tack sharp. I'm going to try wearing my contacts.
  11. Delivered at 10:45a EST this morning. Ordered with Adorama yesterday while they had stock. Very impressed with their service. Can't play with it for now since I'm at work, but I'll probably get the battery charging.
  12. Anybody else order while Adorama had stock?
  13. My Adorama order is in some weird "not verified" status. I thought there was an error with the card info, so I contacted them to see if it needed to be corrected, but the rep implied that the verification process and my order status was normal. Still hopeful.
  14. Hah. I didn't call or chat with either store, but that doesn't surprise me.
  15. I'm still in "new order processing" limbo with B&H. Tempted to see if placing an order with Adorama or other goes faster. Edit: Checked on Adorama, it said "in stock" with free overnight shipping, placed an order there and will be cancelling with B&H as they haven't charged my card or updated anything about the order all day.
  16. Got an email from B&H early this morning that it was still out of stock--just the basic subscription notification they send. But I've been seeing posts from people saying B&H plans to ship their order soon. Emailed them to ask for details.
  17. Young Steve Buscemi, is that you?!
  18. Ah! Mine is still "On order". Crud.
  19. Lucky!
  20. Where did you order from, Mike?
  21. I'm more interested in using the Profoto B1 kit with the X-T2. Curious about what transceiver was used and if there was TTL functionality.
  22. Darn! I wish it was more like late August. I've got an out-of-town project the week before Sept. 8 that would be great to have an X-T2 on. Oh well! October is really busy for me photo-wise, so at least I'll have it by then.
  23. That's essentially what I'll be doing. Planning on using my ND setup on my 16mm prime, as well as using it for nighttime stuff, and using the 16-55 for just about everything else. The main reason for a zoom this trip is just speed and convenience, since I won't e there very long. As a former Mainer, got any tips on locations in Acadia for a short trip? I'm so torn on where to go for sunrise, in particular. Don't really care that much about Cadillac Mountain, as I live in a mountainous area anyway, but the coast is special.
  24. Yeah, considered going to one of the preview events near me, but it's a 2-hour drive and costs $25, just to play with the camera for a few hours. Not sure I'm THAT impatient about it.
  25. Good to know! I'll probably go with the 16-55. Lots of options in that zoom range.
