X-E3 Image Noise Horrendous

New to the Fuji systems here, I was very excited to get this new camera and had read nothing about poor low light performance but seem to get horrible results in anything but bright light and auto settings. I came from Nikon bodies D200, and D850 which I still own and use mostly in manual mode with no issues. Is there some trick with the Fuji I need to know of do I need to keep this thing in bright light to work?  At the moment I get the impression my old D200 is a better low light camera which cant be true. Why are the edges of what should be a line a jagged interpolated line?  Is there something wrong with my particular body or the sensor in this body?
