10-24 internal fault.

Well here's a new one.  In 35 years as a professional photographer I have never seen this.

I have what appears to be a smear of clear liquid smeared across one of the internal elements of XF 10-24 f4.

At first I thought it was chipped element, but there is no damage to outside of the lens barrel and nothing rattling around inside.

The curved lines in the smear seem to be caused bt me tapping the lens to see if the smear moved.

It's on it's way back to Fuji, so I let you know what they say.

I just discovered the exact same problem. What was the solution for you? And where did you send it?

I sent it back to Fuji and they replaced the rear lens group.  I think it cost £125.

this appears to be a group detachment.

 

As you may know, they are glued. A physical lens shock or a thermal shock may be responsible for this.
