X100S / X100T / X100F - do the letters actually stand for something?

Not very important, but it just hit me...

X100...X100S...X100T...X100F

Could it be that the letters were chosen because they stand for Second, Third and Fourth?

 

The sequence would have to end there though because Fifth would be F as well!

Or it could just be coincidence.

Not sure whether Fujifilm thought there would be a fifth generation when they introduced the "T".

They could always change to X200 or something else.

Well that is what they did, s,t,f , second, third, fourth.

The next could resort to Roman Numerals, V for fifth.

X-100 s, t, f are the sort of designations for a model's evolutionary change. Basically the same with enhancements on each iteration. 

X-200 would be reserved for a revolutionary change, perhaps IBIS or a full frame sensor. 

It will be interesting to see how they handle it when/if they have a new model of this series.
