Flash is down but camera thinks it’s up?

I have the EFX eight flash and my XT4 is reading it as down instead of up and when I put the flush down, it thinks it’s up. I’ve already reset the settings have purchased a new identical flash and still doesn’t work.

Factory reset of the camera.
Repeated cycling of the flash beween up and down position.

It's quite likely a fault, the microswitch or other sensor for flash position has failed or is jammed/stuck.

You might need to send it in for repair.
