Hi everyone,

I m a new owner of an EXT3, having been out of photography for 10 years my prior 20 years of knowledge is looking useless. I used to shoot a canon which gave me RAW, NOW I have RAF, 1. What's the difference?

2. I have photoshop and do a lot of editing and am used to converting RAW but keep getting the message "not the right type of document". Completely confused what to do.. Help !!

3. I shot seven photos today and got 7 jpeg and and only 5 RAF. Why? What can I do to make sure I get a RAF or RAW  of each when I shot?

The raw file format is manufactorer and model specific. I guess the F in RAF stands for Fuji.

Any raw converter has to be adapted to newer camera models. So older software versions might not be able to read newer files.

Conerning JPG and RAF you should check your settings in the setup menu.

There is no such thing as EXT3 - do you have X-E3, X-T3 or something else?

Which version of Photoshop do you have? If you have an Adobe subscription make sure you have the latest updates.

Some cameras do not support raw with certain settings - if you attach an original jpeg (straight out of the camera) we may be able to tell you why the RAF wasn't created.

Older Photoshop or Adobe Camera Raw versions might not work with RAF files from the X-T3, so it's a good idea to check if your ACR plugin is updated. You might also want to give Adobe DNG Converter a shot to convert your RAF files to DNG because Photoshop can handle those without any hassle.
