Hello everyone,

Since November I have my X-T2 and as many other before I switched from a different brand to Fuji.
The main reason ... the beautiful colors, especially in JPG.
I didn't even looked that close to the colors, because... shit no idea... I thought its Fuji, they won't mess up the colors.
So I took the Camera to several jobs and I thought well something wrong with the whitebalance. I thought I messed it up (wrong setting because I use to set it manually).
But in the end I was thinking... something is missing. The pictures didn't have the typical/magical Fuji mood. Something was missing and I thought well... It must be a setting.

The story continues until last Saturday when I was on a birthday party. My girlfriend forgot her camera at home so she asked me it I could bring my X-T2.
On that party a friend had a X-Pro2 and we switched cameras for a couple shoots. From the First shoot with the X-Pro2 I thought WOOOW that's what I expected from my X-T2 as well.
So my friend and I set together, set ALL parameters (WB and WB shift, Highlights, Shadows, filmsimulation, color etc.) equal on the cameras and took some shoots. We even used the same lens.
I was shocked! My X-T2 is over a Stop darker, has a greenish tint, a lower dynamic and looks dull against the picture from the X-Pro2.

At home I compared it to my X-100T and the result was the same.
After talking to my photostore and resetting the camera I thought well thas better.
Some further test showed me that this problem is related to dark environment when you have to boost the ISO (1600) and take a dark image.
Attached you find a picture with a comparison of my X-100T and my X-T2. Both were shoot wit the exact same settings. (Ok the lens is different but that shouldn't have such an impact)
An other point is when I shoot RAW and JPG together that the JPG is correctly exposed but the RAW is much darker (about 1,5 stops).
When I do this with my X-100T, both JPG and RAW look nearly the same.

Shooting in dark environment and producing a picture that's represent the darkness of the environment always leads to a color tint, mostly green, sometimes magenta.
I love my X-100T the Pictures are so magical, but what I got from my X-T2 is razor sharp but looks color wise mor like my old Sony cypershoot from 2005.

MY QUESTION!

- Does someone experience the same thing?
- Can someone who owns a X-pro2 and a X-T2 do a comparison test and post the results. (Set the Camera to equal settings, including the ones in the Q menu, and shoot a darker room with a window, set the WB to a fixed value eg. 5600k)
- Do I have a faulty camera or it this a general thing to the X-T2? (Because if this is a general thing I have to sell the camera)

Thanks a lot!
Tommy

BTW: I'm in contact with Fuji and they want RAW files from an X-Pro2 and X-T2 to compare. But till next Tuesday I won't get my handy on an other Xtrans III sensor camera.

They are exactly the same settings: ISO, shutter speed, aperture, WB (including shift), filmsimulation, highlight, shadows, colors and dynamic range and focal length. The only difference is that I was closer with the x-t2 at the target.
But I sent some new images.

Is this fluorescent light? Could be that the flickering is throwing off the metering...

Try turning off the Shutter AE-lock option... It may be that the you're focusing and locking the exposure when the light is on its bright part of the cycle and actually taking the picture when the light is on the dark part of its cycle. The X100T didn't have this option---I'm not sure exactly how it behaves, but I believe it locks the exposure on shutter half press.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see now you said you're shooting in full manual.

I find that strange. I have both the X-T2 and the X-Pro2 and they seem near identical to me. I will say though I have not compared them at the same time, same light, same lens, and same exposure settings so i cannot say if they are exposing exactly the same. I have been shooting more aperture priority lately where I shot full manual with my Canons. I guess it could be possible that there is a defect with your camera.

Hey, thanks a lot for the reply.

Atm I couln'd get my hands on any other X-T2 or X-Pro2. but i had some shoots in the last days and at some point the camera started to underexpose the RAW files. I checked all files and they were all ok (Jpgs and Raw have the same exposure) but at some point the camera strated to underexpose the RAWs by about 2 stops. Additionally it happend a copuple of times that I couldn't switch off the camera without taking out the battery...

I'm now collecting all the issues with the camera and going to sent it back to Fuji.. :(
