XWebcam.CameraExtension is using 9GB of memory during use

I'm using my X-S10 as a webcam using the latest version of XWebcam, on an M1 Macbook pro, recently updated to Sonoma 14.4.1. I've done the additional steps to enable external cameras here (system-override legacy-camera-plugins-without-sw-camera-indication=off) and have downloaded the latest version of XWebcam with the additional extension to enable my mac to connect to the XS-10 which it does successfully now, albeit inconsistently and with crashes. I've noticed that the 'com.fujifilm.xwebcam.CameraExtension' will sometimes hang and cause the camera to not be found and will need to be rebooted in order for my applications to find my camera again. Additionally, after successfully using xwebcam for a teams call, the memory footprint of the com.fujifilm.xwebcam.CameraExtension process blows up to 9GB which seems absurd. Looking for any guidance or updates to the camera extension for making this actually work in a usable way.

Same experience, 

since the upgrade of FUJIFILM X Webcam 2 app it consumes memory and then crashes. I used it with Xt3 for years and was stable enough but after recent upgrades it is unreliable and lasts up to 10-15 min, then memory footprint of the com.fujifilm.xwebcam.CameraExtension process blows up to 10GB or more GB and freezes.

It is terrible experience given that many of us have our worflow already set in stone and now we need to look for new solution.

I am having the same issue with a mac pro and Sonoma 14.7. The memory usage blows up to 25GB and the video recording in Zoom basically stops and it continues recording the audio.

I'm having the same issue. The extension is having a major memory leak. During calls, the usage goes up to as much as 30GB after which my system goes unresponsive. I have to force quite the extension, to be able to use the camera in calls again. Having to do this during every call is becoming quite annoying. Hoping Fuji is reading along and planning a patch for the leak. Using an X100V on macOS Sequoia, M1 Pro, running Webcam version 2.2.0.
