Xpro2 “turn off the camera and turn on again”

I bought a used xpro2 for pretty cheap knowing the mechanical shutter doesn’t work 100% of the time. I was planning on just using the electronic shutter until I had enough money to send it in for repair. 

In the main menu I switched the camera to mechanical shutter just to see if it would work on any specific shutter speed and now the camera is stuck in a loop saying “turn camera off and on again” while firing the shutter every time I turn the camera on.
 

The camera was working fine when I was only using the electronic shutter but now I can’t even get back into the menu to change it back to electronic shutter only.

Ive tried taking the battery out and leaving it for a few minutes but nothing has changed.
Also none of the buttons do anything when the camera is on other than the image preview.

Any ideas on how I can get it back to electronic shutter only?

I'm having the same issue now! I just got off the phone with the Fuji repair folks who said it's a mechanical shutter issue and that it probably needs to be replaced. However, I read elsewhere that someone was able to switch it back to electric shutter where it worked. I, too, can't access the menu now, though, and just have that error message. I can get to playback menu but I don't think you can change your shutter type there. Any luck with your issue or any pointers for me with this?
