So I am confused about this in the XT-2, as it seems the implementation is different than the XT-1 according to Rico?

I do not use DR Auto, my standard is highlights -1 shadows 0, Raw/Fine to slots 1&2.

But there is a reference to Preview Pic Effect Off now triggering something different in the viewfinder?

To accurately assess RAW, should it now be ON?

To accurately preview your JPEG images yes turn it on.

It will have no effect on the RAW.

If you shoot RAW only it's nice to see what the image COULD look like, not what it will look like.

Preview effect shows you the finished in camera JPEG....

So for RAW only it's a matter of taste if turned on or off.
