Hi all,

I took my Fuji XT1 for a shoot yesterday and something that caught my attention is that when I hold my camera in portrait mode and tilt it along Y axis (vertically slowly), the panorama mode turns on. Is that normal? How to turn it off?

Is there some sort of automatic accelerometer related function that turns it on? Also I observed that shooting mode automatically jumped from S to 'ADV.' then to Panorama while holding it in portrait. I just wondering if there's some sort of issue with the Drive dial.

This isn't something that happens always happens while shooting with the camera title sideways, but lately it's become more noticeable.

Thanks,

SR

    • Are you writing in backup or sequential mode? If you are writing in sequential mode then its going to write first to the primary card and then switch to the secondary card. The speed of writing from the buffer to the card would be slower when the primary card is full. If you are writing in backup mode then things will slow down if you are shooting bursts AND the bursts fill the buffer - at that point write will be at the speed of the slower card.
    • So does the CF Express take the initial data from the camera and then later on the SD card catches up? I've been using CF Express only but it's a pain in the butt to use a card reader all the time. I'd rather just use a secondary SD card for compatibility issues, but would my buffer rate be effected?
    • Hi everyone, Nice to meet you, I'm new to the forum and love Fuji. I live in France near Paris. I'd like to share a moon shoot dated march 2023 made with X-T5 with XF 150-600. Enjoy the mineral moon !

    • I have one of those. I use it a lot for my camera lens based images. It is light, weight wise, which is good for travel/carrying, easy to use and works well. Hopefully, the weather will let you outdoors at night and you can have some fun. Right now, the Orion Constellation is readily visible with all of its nebulae and galaxy season (Spring) is coming. p.s. Coming up on March 13/14, 2025, is a Lunar eclipse: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2025-march-14
