AF after firmware update

Hi all - I recently tried to like an X-T5 and in fact did very much, but ended up returning it because I could NOT get the continuous/eye/face AF to work at all. I had a nearly 0% hit rate, with images usually focusing several inches in-front of or behind the subject, despite confirmation from the little green box in the viewfinder. Manual focus was also a mess for anything that moves, without quite enough EVF resolution for me and some motor jumping in the lenses with non-linear motors. 

Anyone tried the AF with the new firmware, and if so do you see real improvements?

I tried and it works for me. I suppose you enabled eye traking already.

Yes, tried eye AF with all the various settings I could think of. Consistently got green box confirmation in the viewfinder, but the photos were not actually focused on the eye, ever. 

I no longer have the camera, because of that.

I think that you must have had a faulty camera.The eye detection on my x-t5 is very impressive.

Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll have to rent one to try again.

A lot of these type of feedback was due to the Auto Focus Priority setting was set to Release instead of Focus.

That is the first settings I changed whenever I got a new Fujifilm camera.
