When shooting in manual, the front dial overrides the top dial by nearly a stop. This is frustrating in the studio where I want to nail down the exposure and keep it there. It seems I'd inadvertantly touch the dial and under or over expose an image. My favorite is when it ends up over the sync speed and I get the stripe at the bottom.

Is there a way to over ride this function other than gaffers tape?

On the xt10 if I set shutter speed to 180X (250X on xp2), this disables the 1/3 stop adjustments on the front dial.

The other option is to swap the functions of the front and rear dials

As I don't own XP2 I can only comment from how I worked around the issue in the studio with the xt10
