Hi all,

I have purchased an X-Pro2 and would like to use it for studio shooting using strobes/flashes most likely with Profoto B1's and an Air Remote. I once read there are certain settings within Fuji cameras that may need activating/deactivating ie. preview exposure.

Anyone have some good tips for studio settings, what are you using?

Thanks

Preview exposure may need to be off, otherwise you'd only see your ambient setting, thus your EVF/screen could be nearly black. I have this mapped to a Fn button, I use it a lot on and off. Makes sense not to dive into menus each time. Flash setting, depending on your camera, but at least on commander or remote or whatever it's called. Drive mode and electronic shutter may need to be off (X100T)

White balance, 5600K obviously.

ISO 200 and sync speed probably, unless you need ambient light.

Aperture for whatever dof you require.

Adjust strobe power accordingly to fine tune.

But since you have expensive lights, you probably know all this already I hope.

Hi Tom, thank you it was the Preview exposure that I was getting confused about I have assigned to a Fn button and works a treat. Thanks for the other tips too but as you said I already know ;)

Hi Tom. Thanks for the info.

I have 2 sets of studio lights. 5600K works well with the Photogenics, but the older set I take on location gives off a warmer cast.

How can I measure the color temp within the X-T10?

I'd just like to get it right in the camera... I use a gray card anyway, but would prefer to not have to correct WB in post.

    • Hi everyone, I have the opportunity to buy a used Fujifilm X-T10 for around €100, possibly even way less than €100, but the body has a defect that I’d like to evaluate before making a decision. Here’s the issue: Whenever you try to manually adjust the shutter speed or aperture, the camera freezes for about 30+ seconds. In around 90% of cases, the photo won’t be taken at all. However, the camera works perfectly fine in fully automatic mode. The lenses have already been tested on another body – they work flawlessly, so it seems the issue is definitely with the body. I haven’t been able to test the camera myself yet, but from what I understand, the problem mainly affects manual adjustments (e.g. via the front or top dials). My questions: Has anyone experienced this issue before? Could it just be a faulty control dial or a bad contact, or am I potentially looking at a more serious electronics issue? Is it worth buying and repairing the camera, or is the risk too high?  Edit: Is it a high chance for a mainboard defect? Because if it isn’t the mainboard I eventually would try to fix bad contacts or a broken flex cable for example.  Thanks a lot in advance! at
    • I can't find a solution to get HSS working on my GFX 100 II. I'm using Elinchrom Five flashes with the transmitter pro for Fujifilm. Both are supposed to support HSS, and everything works fine on my Canon R5 (with the transmitter pro for Canon). With the GFX 100 II, I can't figure out how to fix the issue of the shutter curtain being visible above 1/125s. I'm using the latest firmware versions for all equipment. I've tried the shutter modes EF, M+E, and EF+E. I've also set the flash mode to manual and to Auto FP (HSS), but nothing works. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?

    • You may have to be a little more patient. There are some recipe users stopping by now and then and some X-T50 film sim dial fans that stop by now and then as well. Hopefully, one of them will be able to help you. p.s. Welcome to the forum.
    • Patric    I have a Four By FIve mono rail Sinar Norma. When I bougt my Fuji 50R,  I bought a digital back for my Norma with mount that attaches to the lens mount on the fuji. I have no yet used it but I think it holds some interesting promise. If I rembemer it was listed on the Fuji website..... hope this helps you.... Jim
