I still find it rather funny that the whole imaging segment is actually not loosing too much money thanks to the sales of Instax related products.

Not sure I would like to be in the shoes of the head of R&D department when he needs to go and negotiate budget for new lens/camera.

Might be, they're all women in my case.

Ok. My nieces have them too. Easy to buy presents for them. They get so thrilled when I pass them refill boxes. Mind you, they ain't cheap....in the long run.

However, the prints last a surprising number of years without fade.

I didn't get the instax hype either - until I bought one.

It's an incredible experience handing out those prints. I'd recommend every X Shooter to give the SP1 printer a trial

Tempted.....

I'll carry my X-Pro and instax as back up.

No seriously, I know what you mean.

I was at a wedding last week as second shooter, my SP1 printer was quite the attraction of a lot of the ppl around.

In a world more and more often digital, almost nobody print pictures anymore. Even my own wedding pictures are not printed in a book. So when you hand out something physical there is something really novel about it. It feels good to have something small and durable and you can just put up on your fridge as memorabilia.

At weddings, events, parties the instax printer is one of the highlights. People just love printed pictures (especially instant film). The most funny part is, when they photograph their instax prints, and put in on facebook/instagram :D

I have more friends that have those than real cameras, all in their 20's and all female though.

Good to know, thanks. I daren't generalize here but most of my female friends, nieces included love instant results and rather not fuss about more "complicated" real cameras. Either that or the smartphones....

What an excellent idea! It's perfect for shooting in remote regions. The novelty will have 'em pose beautiful shots!

Ok. Now I'm convinced with the instax printer. Will get one. ;)
