XT2 black screen

When I switch on my XT2 it shows only a black screen. I have switched batteries and SD cards no change. However if I press the display button and turn on the camera. The screen shows the firmware upgrade as 4.31. What's the solution to getting the camera to function.

Does the viewfinder show a picture?

Thanks for the replies. There is no picture in the viewfinder. There is no lens cap on the lens. When I switch on the camera there is no picture. But I can hear the camera when I place it next to my ear. But when I turn off the camera with the on-off switch, the sound remains. When I remove the battery and then put it back, the screen is totally black and no sound.

This does not sound good. To rule out some factors try to start the camera without lens and cards.
