Way to toggle SS/Aperture by clicking wheel with XF27?

I hope this hasn't been asked before, I did a search and found nothing.

 

Is there any way to switch from aperture to shutter speed when using lenses without aperture rings simply by clicking on the wheel?

 

I thought then I bought my 27mm that this is how it would work, but no dice. On the E2, it feels like the click wheel is really wasted. All I've found I can do with it is zoom to focus. I had to assign toggle to a Function button which feels like a waste.

X-E2 wheel click is widely used. It is reserved for "MF Focus zoom" in shooting mode and for "100% zoom" in preview mode. It also works as "OK" for "Fn" menu items. Long press on click wheel also toggles "MF Assist Mode".

 

There are no way to set other function for wheel click.

Well, any extra tweaking would be a plus. Fortunately there is a quick workaround - you can simply rotate shutter dial, which I think most people do.

 

I personally use this "focus zoom" all the time with MF lens, and quite often with autofocus lens for quick and precise AF+MF.

When I use the XF27 the command dial is for adjusting aperture of the lens, and left-right buttons of the 4 D-pad adjust shutter in 1/3 values, unless you use it to move the focus point (FW 4.0).

Can't you set the SS dial to T and use the rear dial. Of course there is no quick toggle for switching.
