Russian MTO 1000mm Fuji X-T1

Fuji X-T1 fitted to an old Russian MTO 1000mm lens and Fuji 1.4x converter, using a K&F adapter (giving 2100mm 35mm equivalent)  and if you are wondering how images look here are some herons from about 250 metres, this is an uncropped image and sharpness is as expected, unfortunately :-(. 1/160s f14 1600 iso

This lens was never great not even on its own on film. Perhaps converting it was really asking way too much!

 

It came is a nice case with filters, I remember.

It is not razor sharp, but would you ever get such a photo without it unless you spent a fortune on a better lens?  Obviously! Good Show!

well, but if the results are fuzzy images like the one above I wonder whether it wouldn’t have been better to not use the converter ( by the way that converter might not be the best converter to be used on this lens since it was tailor made for a small number of Fuji lenses alone and not as a general purpose one) and crop or even use another lens altogether.
