Just noticed yesterday when cleaning my 18-135mm that's only 3 weeks old, that there is some dirt/smudge on the first inner element/lens behind outher lens, is this acceptable or should I try to get a new one?

It came with my X-T1, that I bought from hongkong (live in Denmark myself), so sending back will take some time, any experience with Fujifilm if their 1 year warranty exchanges lenses locally, even though it is not bought in that country?

Hard to take a good photo of the smudge, here is the best I could do with my iPhone.

Unfortunately you are not the first person to report particles inside a new Fuji lens.

I had that too the first copy of a 10-24 that I bought was replaced by the shop 3 days after because I noticed specs of what appeared to be some metal or plastic shavings inside.

The thing is that the 10-24 is a lens which could suck specs of dust or other materials from outside but  a WR lens certainly shouldn’t.

Which would we, if I were you, the point I would make to get the lens replaced.

Good luck!

Don't forget the 18mm F2 which I consider to be the worse of the Fuji "dust magnet" lenses.

Good news is that Fujifilm says it can be cleaned/serviced and that it doesn't really affect the lenses.....well, sort of....

That's bad news so many are having these issues, hope fujifilm in future will have better quality control and mere WR lenses.

Contacted fujifilm here in Denmark, got a reply that they do not handle cameras at all, and he had forwarded my mail to the correct office, just waiting reply, hoping for a fast exchange for a new lens.
