xt-1 crapped out on me

owner of an xt-1 since may 2014 and today the thing just went completely dead in the middle of a shooting (with the 56mm 1.2 attached)... black LCD screen, shutter curtain closed...  nothing. went back home to recharge all the batteries, tried with OEM one, and the LCD turns on and for a second and goes to black... cleaned contacts on body and lens... nothing. it's a major bummer, especially if you add in the flimsy door and the rubber coming off (which weren't a deal breaker at that point, that's how much i love that camera)... now, I'm seriously questioning fuji's build quality... for something like this to happen after only 18 month of use is unacceptable IMO. couldn't find anything online, so i came here... has anyone experienced similar problem?

Try to take off the battery for several hours (maybe day or so). That's works as a hardware reset for electronic circuitry.

If it is still under warranty send it back. It could be a case of minor dead on arrival, or maybe one of the few that was missed by the quality check.

 

Until you know what went wrong with it, it is rather hard to say what could have caused it and the same behavior could have happened with any camera.
