Hello all,
I've searched all around the web and found some curious stuff about cheaper lens adapter in fuji x100 series cameras. Yes, I love the current fixed focal lenght of my 100s, but sometimes, stepping backward is not enough to get a wider look, or moving forward to get closer is impossible avoiding natural 35mm distortion (in portraits, for example)... Anyway, does anyone here have tried before another low-budget alternatives to Fuji's original WCLX100 and TCLX100?
If yes, i'd like to hear about it, with some samples if possible.

Take care,

I don't have one of those, because that would be a crazy thing to do imho.

The Fujinon has true optics of the quality that you find in any other Fujinon lens, while chinese knock-offs will more likely have lensbaby toy lens quality.

A small increase in FoV is not worth such a loss in image quality of the whole image. Why get an expensive camera like this only to heavily degrade its quality with toys, no? -_-

If you need the extra FoV i would recommend turning you camera vertical, shoot 2-3 images with a 1/3 overlap, and put them together in Lightroom 6 or invest in Autopano Pro.

Both of these options are at least half the price of the adapter, don't require any extra bulk to your camera, and not to mention good software to do a lot of other things. ^_^

Or get the real thing! :)

on the other hand, for a laughable amount of money you can acquire second hand, in a thrift shop, tele wide angle sets which, although not made for the 23mm Fuji on your camera, which were equally well made but for different but high quality branded cameras. I often see the Olympus tele wide Kit for example and prices on the secondhand market are really affordable.

Certainly worth a try. You can always buy the real thing but if you luck out you would have saved a LOT of money!
