  1. Unfortunately light meters don't work with Fujis as their ISO numbers are off by quite a bit.
  2. I welcome the change. I'd be more than happy if the x-pro 2 was just the x-pro 1 with faster AF, better evf and a next gen traditional Bayer sensor that played nice with lightroom.
  3. 14 23 56. I like the looks of the 16 but i don't need shallow DOF at a wide angle. Also really love the character of the 35 but that focal length can feel like a bit of a compromise sometimes. Too tight for environmentals, too wide for head and shoulders type shots.
  4. Face Detection can randomly mess with flash too.
  5. I think its a great idea on a 24+mp body. That way you've got the option to crop in to an 85mmish focal length and still have a sufficiently low equivalent aperture.
  6. To reiterate, I personally am a big fan of this lens and find it incredibly sharp. But I'll be the first to admit it renders differently to most other Fuji x lenses. Not better or worst, just different. Which can be an issue when you're trying to make a multi lens shoot look consistent. I'm not confusing it with the 18 either.
  7. What are you basing this on? The dynamic range of the d7200 at Iso 100 has been measured up to 2 stops better than a canon full frame.
  8. It's an over-exaggeration, but if you look at the x100 measurements on dxomark, you can see they do some funky stuff with high Iso sensitivity.
  9. I've talked to a fair few Fuji x photographers, and there seems to be a consensus that the 14mm isn't very good or at least sub-par. I own it and quite like it, but appears to render differently to the 23/35/56 lenses, maybe less contrasty? I enjoy the weight and build though as I always stop down for wide shots and often have it in my bag just in case there's a shot I can't get with the 23mm. I'm interested in hearing about other people's experiences with it.
  10. As stated above, I'd be happy if the next Fuji sensor was comparable to the Nikon D7200. So Sony had already developed it. Is probably the same sensor as the Sony A6100 too.
  11. To be clear, I was definitely talking about a new sensor, not doing pointless witchcraft on the current one. I'd be happy if it was comparable to the Nikon d7200.
  12. I'd just really like the next sensor to have a native Iso of 100, instead of 800 at the moment, where you have to bring in a tonne of noise to get the most out of your dynamic range.
  13. Sounds cool, looking forward to the year 2030 where I can pick one up on eBay for an okay price.
  14. Great point x-tc. I think Fuji is at a crossroads where this time last year they were still telling everyone that the x-t1 wasn't the flagship model. Then sales went bonkers, and after all these upgrades and the xt-10, the x-t1 is clearly the flagship now. The big difference for the next sensor will probably be video quality, does it make sense to premiere that in a rangefinder style body?
  15. Is this the same evf and magnification as the x-e2?
  16. I'm Benjamin, a Fuji addict living in Melbourne, Australia. I work as a designer and photographer for Vice, and mostly enjoy shooting street, editorial and portraiture. Sold my 6d a year ago and haven't looked back. Currently shooting with the x-t1 and x100t. Plus always carry the x-e1 w/27mm in my backpack. http://instagram.com/benjamin_thomson
  17. If the x-pro 2 and x-t2 were both released tomorrow, which one would you buy? Assuming they had the exact same feature set except for body design and viewfinder type.
  18. I think you're probably right, the x-t1 did phenomenally well, they will probably follow that recipe.
  19. That's a fair price, but not sure if it's competitive. Would any enthusiast pick it over a much cheaper a6000 or d5500?
  20. Sweet dudes, definitely some things learnt. I'm not much of a studio guy either, still learning on that front, but used a photek soft lighter ii + a gridded softbox, so not sure how to get softer lighting than that. I didn't spend a lot of time on it, but I put my final version up here.. https://instagram.com/p/2nPDM2Mk27/
  21. No worries. Thanks for your time. I can't remember exact sharpening settings, I may have even turned it off on Silkypix, but it didn't appear to make a difference to the moire no matter the sharpening setting.
  22. The image looks fantastic in Capture One, I might have to make the change. Do you have any advice for avoiding moire in the future? Cheers Ben
