  1. It would be good if people start adopting other alternatives other than FB. Hating FB because they force people to login even those who want to stay away from the social media thingy. We must explore other venues. While instagram and Flikr are social media they are very limited and focused which is good but there is no way to create a group and to host high res images. It is sad we are unable to look at the pics.
  2. Thanks now clear if this is how in all the fujifilm camera models. For some reason I kept expecting the custom film sims to appear in the standard film sims once set. I stand corrected. So now I use the custom dial to add my 4 custom film simulation along with any other IQ settings. I need to experiment to see what other settings can be stored here.
  3. Thanks @Greybeard this is what I thought too. I need to explore more. I am a thinking how we can do the Film Simulation bracket for the custom simulations since they will not show up along with the proprietary film simulations. Hopefully there is a way - need to explore. Not sure why Fujiguys have not covered this part - they have a lengthy video on youtube for the X-S10. Thanks @cpX for the citations - I had been through all those but my question was not about using these but specific to how we get the Film Simulation listed so it can be part of FS bracketing - they are not there. Thanks anyway - I will continue exploring.
  4. This is the same doubt I have which I also have raised separately. @Greybeard and @cpX responded kindly. So it looks like the same custom setting dial C1-C4 can bake in the film simulation recipe as well along with others. So my question is - in that case it may not be part of the Film Simulation bracket mode if we use it. I need to explore more. Some say, the custom setting is more robust than the dedicated ones on other models but not sure how it will be useful in situations like using the FS bracket modes or if we can select the custom film simulation at all in the bracket mode.
  5. Looks like not many in this forum are using X-S10!?
  6. Hi I am very confused now having seen how to set the custom film simulation videos on youtube - people use a different camera so it is very confusing. In the case of X-S10 we have C1, C2, C3 and C4 on the PASM dial on top. I was thinking all this while that is the one we use to set our overall custom settings. Film Simulation custom setting, I expected, it will be a separate area. Because, once custome film setting is set, it shows up along with the standard film sim list. Also these demo videos all show a set of 7 custom settings option for film simulation. When i follow these video they all take me to one location with option for me to set only 4 custom settings which obviously i can assign to the PASM dial. Does the X-S10 not have a dedicated area for custom film simulation setting? so custom film simulation will be part of the overall custom setting in X-S10? I am lost 😪 Hope I was clear and conveyed my question properly!! Thanks S

Adding image samples here might help decision making for those that are on the fence confused about choosing the lenses.
  8. Hi @jerryy - just to clarify, are you referring here to 'focus peaking' or is there some other setting that you are referring to to see the dancing pixels? I am having the X-S10. Thank you.
  9. I am not sure of the first part - have no clue on the electrical terminologies. All that I was saying was that the specific YouTube did mention that the current flows through the board before reaching the battery. I can't vouch that as I am not an expert on this but just that I take caution. Your point reference to second part - not sure what you are trying to make. Yes I am aware the USB ports out of a computer will provide lower than the dedicated powerbanks/PD chargers that will be based on their capabilities. I dont see any other reason for the charging time difference (5 hours from a computer as per manual - however it didn't take me that long when i charged the first time from the computer).
  10. I have my back focus button enabled and remember assigning AF-Lock as well to the same button. I am not sure it works/worked, because today while I set my focus using the 'back button focus' and roamed around clicking more pics. Noticed that most of the shots were not in focus and also noticed the focus point had moved away from the centre. I will explore the new settings that Bro. @Alchymist has mentioned. Thanks.
  11. Quick update: I received my spare batteries and charger. For some reason most of these dual battery chargers are using only USB cable to charge. I was expecting a truly direct plugging into wall socket. I noticed some are available but they dont have dual battery but single. Anyway, the other let down was they used micro-USB port. I tried charging and notice that the charging speed is much longer (but definitely faster than the '5 hours charging time connected directly from computer' as per manual) than the direct USB-C connection using my 'Slim-Q 100 W' adapter. The brand I went for is 'ENEGON' and notice a lot of buyers with good rating. Hope this helps.
  12. Yea sorry about that. I was excited that I found something and posted it without watching. Thanks for pointing. Deleted the post to prevent him being confused.
  13. I came across this YouTuber who does videos Fujifilm products who was explaining that when we directly connect the usb-C to the camera the power will pass through the circuit board and then to the battery. So he would try to avoid that voltage passing through the board every time to charge. Having said that the manual also says, connect only to the PC to charge and no mention of directly connecting to wall charger. Although I am using my 'SlimQ 100 W' multi-port charger with 2 USB-C ports which I use for my mobile phones. Worth noting the manual says that using the computer to charge will take 5 hours to fully charge the battery. They don't explicitly mention time duration for other power sources. Using my charger mentioned above, it fully charges within an hour or so (didn't actually note the time). Since having watched that YouTube advice - I am trying to refrain from directly charging and have just ordered a third-party dual battery charger on Amazon (which includes 2 additional batteries). Summing up, I think the USB-C port charging is a welcome addition that will come handy in those situations when we forget to take along spare batteries but have access to charge from a friend's home or public spots with mobile chargers to quickly add some juice to the battery.
  14. Wrong post..ignore my comment pls
  15. Hi @cpX thanks for the input, yes I read through the manual. There is no hint of this. Hence my post. I will keep exploring. Which button would you use to assign 'Preview DOF button' to if you wanted to. If multiple assignment was possible, I may probably use the fn button next to EVF to switch between WB and 'Preview DOF button'. thanks again S
  16. Thanks @cpX
  17. All - Please suggest you favorite DOF Calculator App that you are using. I tried two - they had the depth of field info but there is no mention of minimum focal distance etc., So instead of install and uninstalling - could any of you suggest the best you have tried or using from Android or on Apple Appstore pls. Thank you
  18. Hi @Zababo, I am not sure of this as I only got this camera a week ago and immediately my camera updated to fimware version 2.30. Hope you have found the answer already.
  19. @cpX thanks for your reply. One more question, is it possible to assign multiple functions to a single Fn key. For example, the White Balance Fn button - is it possible to add more Fn to the same button apart from what it is already doing? Sometimes, I feel certain default actions are ideal for me. 😁
  20. Thank you @jlmphotos and @Greybeard for confirming. @jlmphotos it is only me trying to protect my new toy from getting tired running the IBIS all time and make it age too soon 😄 @Greybeard thank you for confirming now I am relieved and no have to keep that thought nagging behind my head for a blurry low light photo.
