  1. Sony has their pros and cons. The 35mm F1.4 is HUGE but it gets you a look that is unique to that sensor size. I've shot them side by side and I prefer Fujifilm. The only one that is worth considering IMHO is the A7 II and A7r II
  2. I shot my sister's wedding with the 18-55mm and 55-200mm. I used the 55-200mm 90% of the time. This was over a year ago now. If I could shoot it again, I would use the 16-50mm and 50-140mm F2.8 instead. The photos turned out fine, I just would of liked a bit more separation in some shots! I knew she was having a daytime wedding so I had plenty of light for the Fujifilm. I used M43 for the reception since the X-E2 couldn't keep up with the dim lighting and moving people.
  3. Some examples of straight out of camera JPEGs from me DSCF2037 by Will Solis, on Flickr DSCF4648 by Will Solis, on Flickr 90mm F2 Fujifilm! Straight out of camera by Will Solis, on Flickr
  4. Their lenses but also their tech. 4k video/photo/burst, Starlight AF, DFD (Panasonic), 5 axis stabilization (Olympus). The 14-150mm is a lens I see when people want an all in one zoom and they just want clear shots. Loads of people who want to photograph family and kids get the E-M10 for example.
  5. Aye I agree, I own M43 as I've said and it has taken me a year of tests, comparisons, research and hands-on with multiple bodies and lenses to come to the conclusion that I will end up going (and staying) with Fujifilm. I really, really like the 15mm F1.7. But that lens alone isn't enough to keep me with M43 because ultimately, I still prefer the files I get from Fujifilm. I am interested in trying out the GX8 but again, the images don't grab me the way Fuji's do. Yeah shoot in RAW and edit in LR. But when the files look right straight from the camera. I dunno it just connects with me.
  6. I've used Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony, Olympus and Fujifilm. Out of all those companies. I enjoy using Fujifilm the most, I like the images that come straight out of the camera the most. I want to use it. thats why I believe in Fujifilm. Firmware 4.00 reduced the biggest negative about Fujifilm IMHO (AF speed/reliability) and so I can now more easily recommend it.
  7. The shutter sound! It's just nice. Using the camera is nice, the way Fujifilm renders!! It's just a joy to use.
  8. The GX8 has some stuff that I would like in the X-Pro2. Bigger grip (optional is fine), articulating screen, big EVF, bigger battery, dust/splash proof. As someone who owned the GX7 and used the X-E2/X-T1 quite a lot, I can say that the GX8 ticks a lot of boxes physically. GX8 is probably the mFT X-Pro2. But I haven't been impressed by the images that I've seen from that camera. Yeah they were from pre-production but it seems to still have that grainy look to the images. Which is one thing I like about Fujifilm is that they're sharp but clean, not digital glossy clean, but not a grain that loses detail.
  9. EDIT: Fixed problem. Can't see a delete thread option.
  10. I want to see this new Sony so I know what to expect from Fujifilm.
  11. Incredible shots. I will be showing my work colleagues this tomorrow!
  12. All I want is a X40 with a properly updated sensor
  13. I first got into DSLRs while I was still in highschool and at the time, Canon were the only ones that had gear that I could afford and could give me the images that I want as beginner. I used that for YEARS and I, like everyone else, was going to go Canon FF and ignore getting better lenses for APS-C. Despite not even liking the weight that my 550D + Sigma 17-70mm first edition had. I then got a job at a camera store and got to try out everything, M43, APSC, FF. I went to training events, camera companies would loan us gear to take out and shoot. As great as all those cameras were, I started to prefer Fujifilm. So now, nearly two years later. Trying out everything that has been released. I still use Fujifilm. I love the ergonomics, the lenses, the files it produces.
  14. I agree with the shutterspeed dial, I find that it is quicker to shoot on A Shutter and change the exposure comp dial manually.
  15. Better video mode would be great, but I guess they're saving that for the X-Pro2.
  16. I like primes for the weight/aperture balance. The 16-55mm F2.8 is too big for my liking.
  17. Looks alright but I'm just going to wait for Fujifilm to release their 24mp cameras.
  18. I don't think we need a 1" sensor in the X30 sucessor. A newer, updated, improved 2/3" sensor would be better. Other than that, I would like the EVF to be on the far left hand like the X-E2 so I can use it comfortably with my nose not touching the screen
  19. AF is pretty much the only firmware upgrade that I want
