  1. True, won't argue with that. I'm just interested in "copying" the real thing just like my other hobby wich is model making, creating lifelike miniature cars that looks like the real one. Now only stretching a bit further to my cameras, that's all there is. Plain and simple. Don't try to look/search hidden meaning or philosophy behind it, keep it light and simple ☺️
  2. Like Queen song: "oooohhh yes, I'm a great pretender". I guess I like to pretend, not to scam people but purely for my own joy
  3. I guess it's an "emotional" thing. Back in the days when I was a younger kid I found myself staring at "use camera" at the occasion department of our local camera store more then new products. I imagine where it has been and what kind of life it has to become worn-out like that. But with worn-out and beaten up like that it mostly broken on the inside so there's no point in buying one right? So I always buy a mint one and started the "Aging process", clearly this X70 is not my first "victim"
  4. There ya go. It's for the X100 series but work just as good as on the X70 if you got the X70. You have to purchase an adapter with a 49mm filter thread though, just get on of those cheap Chinese knockoff vented lens hood use it adapter and your good to go.http://m.ebay.com/itm/172081681552
  5. Sure, I could go that route but it wouldn't be cool cause the marks wouldn't shows brass or alluminium color rather brush up rubber.
  6. X70.
  7. Many Thanks everybody!!! Haven't visit my thread lately so this is a great suprise. Having a Big smile on my face while reading so here's my last X70 "sex up" picture. hope you all like.
  8. Welcome Michele, Dream update for X100S? Keep on dreaming, not going to happen. If there is then it will be for the X100T. If ever.
  9. Hi Steve, So you unscrew the font ring of the lens and screw on the adapter and it won't worked? Watch my video ad 1:20 min to see how I did it. https://youtu.be/B16Sl3gh3TM
  10. Hi Vers, Have you tried the touchscreen? "touch to focus" only is possible on the X70. To use ND Filter I suggest you search for a "X70 hood" on eBay. For ten bucks you'll get an adapter and hood, screw the adapter on to your lens and on top your ND. Don't put any filter directly on your lens!! Hope this will help.
  11. Writing this with a smile I thank everyone of you for their non sugar coated comments on my latest "crazy act". Pierre comments is no surprise and understandable , my dad actually act the same way, slapping on my 40 years old head when he saw what I did. But let me explain why I did it beside the fact that I like to do it. I'm a modeler, scale car modeler that is. Replicate the old worn out look of old cars on to 1/10 scale. When I was young I was fascinated with old cameras especially those from war photographers. So yes you're right that what I did is not real and fake but I know for sure being just a enthusiasts, my gear won't look like that even when I'm dead. So I replicated to my taste. I loved I even more now and it's a keeper. Digital cameras comes and goes, I'm not destroying it just cosmetic enhancements, every scratch I have made is well thought and calculated. Writing this is by no means to win Pierre or anybody over to like what I did. You don't like? Me happy Meaning there won't be any other like mine. Here's a picture of my other hobby beside taking pictures. Thanks for watching and feel free free to comment.
  12. I have a soft spot for "well used" camera gears so after my X70 got it first "scratch"... Well now you know what happens next.
  13. Got myself one of these for my X70. It's really thin. http://www.ebay.com/itm/370717420705
  14. B&W is top of the line. No filter is always better but if you do need to put one in in front of an excellent piece of glass then go for the best. I did
  15. At the moment my perfect combo is: X70-Xt1 with 23mm/60mm.
  16. Little update. Finally an lens hood specifically made for the X70. The dome is 4mm thinner than the X100 version. http://www.ebay.com/itm/172152254625?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  17. @gonefishing81: There ya go, the X70 dome hood version. 4mm thinner than the X100 version. Look really nice and every mm counts right?
