  1. The reply I received from Fuji back a while ago

“Thank you for your patience regarding this issue.

After speaking to our camera service engineers, they told me there is no coating on the new cameras and while the new LCD panels have a similar colour gamut, they are no longer calibrated by the factory in the same way that they used to be.
They believe this changed around the end of 2019 but they weren't sure.  Nothing that should make a black and white image look sepia though, the LCD will be slightly warmer out of the box.

In the same way that most TV screens and monitors are not colour calibrated from the factory, the LCD screens on our cameras are not either and instead have the option to be adjusted manually by the end user to their preference.

I appreciate this is probably not what you are looking for, but this is how the new generation of cameras are made”

I tested a GFX50s I store that was traded in. No issues with the lcd - Seems the more money you spend the lcd is then properly calibrated. The lower end cameras under 1K they ain’t.

    very sad to see

  2. Can anyone tell me why this is happening every time I turn off my X-T30

    See attached video

I don’t have auto transfer on or the app open.

I have updated the firmware via the app and still happening.

Any ideas? I think Bluetooth is still on in settings and keeps this on.
But should I have to turn on Bluetooth every time to import? I never had to before

    Thanks

    Gary

  3. It seems the Lcd tint has not been rectified in different bodies.

I really thought that Fuji would have seen the amount of complaints with the X-T2 and worked on a resolution.

Heres 2 X-T30’s I bought within a month of each other side by side.
Totally reset with latest FW and setup from the start and still an lcd yellow tint is present.

Warranty exchange needed - even after adjusting lcd color and brightness etc. The EVF and LCD are showing same issue.

Ridiculous and a complete pain in the ass.

Brought back the X-T30 today and tried 3 in store - all exhibited same issue in varying degrees of yellow tint.

How can they not calibrate the system to be neutral throughout!!!

I tried to par up two of the test units to take a pair that were exactly the same and they were all different !

I was offered a refund but opted to try more as I shop regularly at the store. They have contacted Fujifilmto order others from possibly another batch to test.

This is an an absolute joke in my opinion. Considering the cost of the cameras they have as a flagship have had issues they should have been on this issue from the get go.

I have had T1, E2s and XM1 bodies and all were perfectly calibrated.

     It good at all

My X-E2s, X-T1 and evening X-M1 do t exhibit this problem.

I did order a 2nd X-E2s when B&H had a sale and it had the issue and had to be sent back also a few years back.

    I’ll keep you posted.

  6. Styled and shot a quick test with a good friend of mine, Alyssa, who've I've been working with since she first got started with modeling. I was using a natural light space for these images, but our shoot kept getting pushed back due to castings that day, and we had horribly rainy and darker skies. This ended up being a great low-light/high ISO test for the X-Pro2, pretty much all the images we shot were at ISO 3200 and above. I used the 35mm f/1.4 and 56mm for these, though I also used the 16mm f/1.4 in images not included here for NSFW reasons.

    Great work

  7. Does anyone find this is loose in the fuji mount - I tried two different copies on my X-T1 and it was moving far too much in the mount. I am eager to find out if its different on the X-E2. Anyone have this issue??

  8. This is now beginning to happen to my X-T1, It's been used it for 3 weddings and minimal use outdoors. I live in Ireland so it's not exactly 65% humidity and 35 degrees weather to have the issue arise as quick as it has. I have had numerous Canon bodies and not one of them had this issue. My X-T1 is 16 months old, which technically is taking the piss. I had to send it to Fuji to get the sensor remapped after 6 months, and that took 2 1/2 weeks. Fuji better bring this to the service dept as a free out of warranty repair. Having to pay €120 for a design fault is not my idea of the great Fujifilm customer service they expect us to believe. Strange how I don't see anyone with an X-E2 with this issue??

I have ordered a metal grip from Photomadd today to prolong the life of the rubber before inevitably having to get it repaired. If not it'll be up on eBay to get an X-E2s in the hope they fixed the issue with that model.

  9. I travel to Thailand every year as my wife is Thai, One year we decided to go to Chiang Rai up north and we happened to stop off at a large shopping centre.

Upstairs there was a photography exhibition / store. It is owned by a couple I'd say in their early 50's with small to very large prints for sale all taken by this couple.

I purchased 3 prints to bring home they are that nice. I would normally not buy other peoples work to hang in my own house.

I was blown away at the beautiful images that were on display and we got talking - Turns out the gentleman and his wife had travelled all over Thailand for the past 15 years taking images on only point and shoot Olympus camera's with anything from 6mp to 8mp files. He had only just purchased his first dslr that month and was just getting used to it.

If you are ever in Chiang Mai Central airport plaza, they are on the top floor, superb images - The photo from the link is old and nothing compared to what I got to see when I was there.
