  1. For those who are using aperture...I'm not sure can I still trust a discontinued software to handle current files especially RAW from the newer cameras? I hate to let go of aperture as well but I switch to LR a year ago and didn't really like it. I'm really thinking of switching it back to Aperture or Iridient.
  2. great to discover this thread, I was also trying to decide on the 23 vs 16. My main concern is the AF behind. I've own the 23 before, doesn't really feel fast enough in high performance mode using a X-T1. I'm taking environmental portraits of kids and events which means fast AF and large aperture means a lot to me. I also have the 16-55, another great zoom, but too bulky and aperture not large enough for some of the scenes I'm in. Its definitely a great lens for people who can take its weight and the AF is faster than the 23. I didn't compare to the 16mm since I don't own 2 at the same time. Thanks for the discussion!
  3. thanks! I'm quite new to LR, switched from Aperture as well!
  4. Does anyone uses lightroom or other software for their libraries analytics? Ever since I switch over to Fuji for my "LMV (Lean, minimalist & value for money) Project", I have been trying to find out what are the statistics of the photos I've been taking. I do know what genres I took the most and have some ideas of what cameras, lenses, settings I took. Anyone?
  5. Just manage to see that this lens is actually a red badge zoom! Can't wait to try it to see the results!
  6. my friend and I are also considering this lens over the canon 400 f5.6. But the more we compare, the more we find that it's not really a good comparison so we decided to just pre-order. The main features we value are weight, size, focal length, AF speed, future compatibility, practicality then cost. I have owned a 50-140 but is a much faster lens and labelled "red badge" which the 100-400 isn't. I'm not expecting in par with the red badge zoom but it should be "usable". Once we get the lens maybe we should pool our thoughts again!
  7. I've seen a lot of X Pro 2 body showcasing with this lens as well, I'm sure this lens will have great compatibilities for future bodies too!
  8. Thanks for the clarification! I'm sure it's a good travel landscape lens compared to the 16 which I have trouble deciding!
  9. love the photos! I've been a landscape and nature photographer for many years using canon gear and one of the main worries I have about Fuji system is whether can it delivers or at least matches DSLR fullframe lenses quality. I think your photos and your choice of lenses just reassured me on that. I can see a lot of the photos are taken with the 10-24?
  10. I bought the X-T1 just middle of last year and when I decided to get this body (and the system), I didn't really mind it's not the latest model (X-T10 is) which I know a replacement will come soon. 1 of the main considerations that makes me think this way is that the company keep upgrading the firmware and every time when it does, I see people saying it's like a brand new camera altogether. Personally I don't really feel so, but I do think that they are flaws taken care of and you can visually see improvements, unlike other camera makers. I'm not sure when X-T2 come out will Fuji stop the firmware support for X-T1. Chances are slim for them to do that. And in the case that they are upgraded to better features in par with the successor (less the hardware upgrades), I think both the usability and resale value of the body is still pretty high. If the X-T1 can meet your expectation, I believe you should be more worried about items in the rest of the system such as lenses, flashes, accessories etc. That half a year of usage and experience will make you understand the system better. Who knows you may end up ditch the system completely and by then, it doesn't even matter whether is there a X-T2 or X-T3 coming soon.
  11. I bought this lens when I switch to Fuji but sold it after about 1 month of use. What I like about this lens is the build quality, handling, colour and AF. Why I eventually sold it away is the weight and size which becomes a concern over time. I came to Fuji is mainly due to the compactness and agility in use. The weight and size reminds me of my old Canon setup and it really started bothering me as times goes by. Anyone who appreciates build quality and performance will like the 16-55. Its really a stellar performer less the weight and size advantage.
  12. this is the lens that make me stay with Fuji! I like the size, quality, build and colour! I would say it feels better than the 35 f1.4 which I had it for a few months but didn't really fall for it. I'm in love with the 35 f2 now!
  13. I've used for many years, the Canon 85 f1.2 and 135 f2. I tend to stick to the 85 f1.2 most of the time for both indoors and outdoors and I like this focal length and the 3D look it produces. However, occasionally when I use the 135 f2, it never amazes me that it can produce very outstanding looks as well! When I switch to Fuji, 90 was not out yet so a 56 was one of the first lens I bought. I sold it after a month of trying because I don't really find it similar to my Canon equivalent. I tried the 90 when it was launched and I tested it in my local Fuji showroom and I like the AF speed as well as the results. Nevertheless I feel that the lens is a bit too "huge" for Fuji standard which is one of the reasons why I wanted a smaller and lighter setup. I may eventually still get it as portraitures are almost the only thing I shoot nowadays.
  14. I've been thinking about this question since last year and I still couldn't find what suits me with all primes but 16, 35 & 90 seems to work the best for me right now and if zoom, 10-24, 35, 50-140 with TC if zoom is allowed.
  15. I love this lens! In fact this is the lens that pulls me back to Fuji! How do you find the lens with X-T10?
