GFX 100s not connecting to Mac via USB-C
jmm123 replied to jmm123's topic in Fuji GFX 100 / GFX 100S / GFX 100R
Thanks, Yes I knew about the USB issue in newer Macs and macOS but that is why I tested it with High Sierra as well. Also the fact that every other camera easily connects via USB direct with the camera - definitely points out the fact that it is a FUJI specific problem. Furthermore - I remember being able to direct connect early last year. I rarely take the Cards OUT of the camera these days. The weird thing is I can connect my iPhone 15 via USB-C to 100s and pull files directly - puzzling. Problem is FUJI rarely listens to anyone. -

Hi all, I notice that there are some focusing sound on my XF33 despite it being said as completely silent in many review. The focusing sound is kind of like stepping motor sound, and it only appears when I’m shooting photo. I try shooting near and far away and there is sound. However, it is completely silence when I shoot videos. Is it normal or do I need to change some of my setting? Or am I just getting a not too good copy haha. please assist me with the matter guys! Thanks!

Very backwards (haha sorry couldn't resist).

Nope - forwards only

Hi Guy, I need a secondary Fuji X to back-up my X-H2 cheeply. I sold my X-T2 to get the X-H2 beause I wanted to increase my AF hit rate. That being said, can you comment on the hit rates between X-H1, X-T3, and X-T4 in 2024? With all having the latest firmware, is there a big jump in AF performace between the three? Thanks, Tomek

oh wow, that is very odd. Can you not simply put any version you want onto a formated SD card, and install it like every other priece of hardware on the planet? @botty have you tried a different lens, or updating the firmware on your lens (if thats the only one you have one)?

GFX 100s not connecting to Mac via USB-C
jerryy replied to jmm123's topic in Fuji GFX 100 / GFX 100S / GFX 100R
A while back Apple put a security update in its operating system that requires users to give permission for USB C or Thunderbolt connected devices to transfer data back and forth between the device and the computer. If the user did not give permission, the device could only use the USB or Thunderbolt port for battery charging. Initially, this update was only for laptops, they may have brought it over to desktop computers later. As far as I know, if the user accidentally does not give access permission, there is no easy way to reset this for a single device, but there is sort of a work-around described in the release notes: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-13-release-notes Does this help? -

GFX 100s not connecting to Mac via USB-C
jmm123 posted a topic in Fuji GFX 100 / GFX 100S / GFX 100R
Has anyone else noticed that since one of the recent firmware updates: the GFX 100s will not connect to a Mac of any age via USB cable. I am currently on FW 2.11 on my GFX 100s. Using USB-C the camera will connect to both iOS and Windows and we can see and download image files. But now when connecting it via cable to a Mac - the camera will not show up at all. I have been reporting this to Fuji support but it has not gone anywhere for months. TIA. John -
Just been looking, I can't find a way to revert back to the previous version - can anyone please advise?
-
Hi, I plan to install the previous version today and then see how it goes. Fingers crossed.
-
Fujifilm has changed this on the latest camers such as the X100VI - recent cameras show the behaviour you are looking for. However I don't believe you can choose the behaviour either on older or newer cameras. Older cameras will return to either the My Menu or the first item in the IQ Menu if you don't have My Menu items so removing the My Menu items may be an option for you.

Seems fine over here. Just out of curiosity have you tried reverting to previous version? Different SD Card or Lens to try and isolate the problem?

Charing battery inside the X-H2 over USB
Tomek666 replied to Tomek666's topic in Fuji X-H1 / Fuji X-H2s / Fuji X-H2
Thanks Chris, can you elaborate why relying on the circuitry of the camera is not favorable (asside from the convenience aforementioned)? - Last week

Just updated my XH2 to the latest firmware, and my camera now keeps blacking out. I can only get it to work again by taking the battery out, and back in. Anyone else have the issue?

Charing battery inside the X-H2 over USB
ChrisKou replied to Tomek666's topic in Fuji X-H1 / Fuji X-H2s / Fuji X-H2
External charging is the way to go. Doesn't rely on circuitry of the camera. Also, if you shoot any length of time you're going to be swapping batteries, and you can use one while charging the other. -
RSK22 started following Shutter Count reseted

Hello, I bought a x-s10 with 7k mechanical shots and 12 electronical. After I updated the camera from 2.6 to 3.11, my shutter count reseted to 0. Is there a way to go back? The updated might caused that?

Is there a way to keep your menu selection on the last option you used? For example. When I select MENU the cursor defaults to MY Menu. I scroll up to IQ settings, make a change, and return to shooting. When I press the MENU button again the cursor is back to MY Menu. I really want it to stay on the IQ setting I was last using (or any other Menu setting). It's a PITA to keep scrolling up and down, back to the previous setting. (Note. My Canon Menu retains the position of the last option I was using). Thanks in advance for any help.

Photos on Angelbird AV Pro SX 160GB vs SE 512GB
Tomek666 replied to Tomek666's topic in Fuji X-H1 / Fuji X-H2s / Fuji X-H2
Im not partal to any brad, just opted to try these based on apparent price / performance. I'm always looking for best bang per buck, hence Fuji I guess - haha Reliabilty does not concern me, as I always shoot to two cards for pro work (and burst shooting is not a part of that). Made sense for me to get the cheapest / fastest CF cards for hobby shooting. I just got a Sabrent Rocket V60 512GB cheep (as the back-up card). As long as neither of these freeze the camera I hope its a cheep solution for my needs. (AB AV Pro SE 512Gb and Sabrent Rocket V60 512GB). Half a gig of redunat storge for $200USD is something I can live with. (Especially considering I can bust the hell out of the Anglebird). Cheers, Tomek -
Would using an external charger be of benefit to the batteries life? I appreace it can be faster, but I doin't mind pluging in the camera over USB to charge. Does charging via the camera do as good a job as lets say the fuji's own external charger? Does the camera stop charging once the battry is full and not over charge? I couldn't find these deatails in these forums or in the manual. Thank you! Image below shot on X-T2 in a sunny studio.

It is really easy to find out if the wifi is on. Your computer or tablet or cell phone will have a network settings dealing with wifi, bluetooth, ethernet or “other”. Open that up and go into the section for wifi, and take note of which networks are listed. Turn on the camera and keep watching the list of networks. If your camera’s wifi is turned on, a new network should suddenly show up in your computer/tablet/phone’s network listings. Now go into the camera’s menus and start a wireless connection (the x-app or camera remote app can help you with this). You should see a network show up now. It is not hidden because it has to be visible so that your computer/tablet/phone can join the camera’s network to transfer images. Turn the camera off and that network should disappear. Turn the camera back on and see what happens.
