  2. FYI Update - I just learned that the Zoom F6 & F3 recorder/mixers also synch to the UltraSynch Blue over bluetooth. I am planning to record 32bit float on the F6 and it will have frame accurate matching time-code with my two-XH2S' and one XH2.
  3. Hopefully these will help some. For quite a while now Apple has put stuff into their operating system so that you cannot yourself open the connected camera’s card and see the images, you have to use their or third party software to do that.
  4. Thanks for the instructions: I was doing up to 3 successfully but can't wait to get home and try 4 and 5 and report back. Cheers, John
  5. Okay, just for completeness sake: 1. The camera’s menu connection setting is USB CARD READER. 2. The computer is turned on, booted and nicely operational. 3.. With the camera turned off, connect the camera to the computer using a known-to-be-good USB C data plus power cable (a data only cable should work as well, a power only cable will not work). 3. The camera’s charging light may turn on. Turn the camera on. The back screen probably will show the USB symbol as well as the USB letters. 4. Start up the Image Capture app and see if the camera’s name appears in the devices list. 5. In the Apple menu, select ‘About This Mac’, click on the ‘More Info…’ button, and on the right hand side of the window that opens, at its bottom is a button called ‘System Report…’, click on it. A new window should open, the left hand side has collapsible dropdown listings, the first is called “Hardware’, within it is the USB listing, select that. The right side pane should give you listings of all the USB devices connected at that moment, one of them should say something like USB PTP Camera. Does either 4. or 5. work?

  7. Thanks, Yes I knew about the USB issue in newer Macs and macOS but that is why I tested it with High Sierra as well. Also the fact that every other camera easily connects via USB direct with the camera - definitely points out the fact that it is a FUJI specific problem. Furthermore - I remember being able to direct connect early last year. I rarely take the Cards OUT of the camera these days. The weird thing is I can connect my iPhone 15 via USB-C to 100s and pull files directly - puzzling. Problem is FUJI rarely listens to anyone.
  8. Hi all, I notice that there are some focusing sound on my XF33 despite it being said as completely silent in many review. The focusing sound is kind of like stepping motor sound, and it only appears when I’m shooting photo. I try shooting near and far away and there is sound. However, it is completely silence when I shoot videos. Is it normal or do I need to change some of my setting? Or am I just getting a not too good copy haha. please assist me with the matter guys! Thanks!
  9. I'm think I'm starting to answer my own question here. X-H1 will be the same as X-T2. XT-3 and XT-4 have the same sensors but not sure about the processors. Would make sense to go for the 4 due to same battery as the X-H2.
  10. Very backwards (haha sorry couldn't resist).
  11. Hi Guy, I need a secondary Fuji X to back-up my X-H2 cheeply. I sold my X-T2 to get the X-H2 beause I wanted to increase my AF hit rate. That being said, can you comment on the hit rates between X-H1, X-T3, and X-T4 in 2024? With all having the latest firmware, is there a big jump in AF performace between the three? Thanks, Tomek
  12. oh wow, that is very odd. Can you not simply put any version you want onto a formated SD card, and install it like every other priece of hardware on the planet? @botty have you tried a different lens, or updating the firmware on your lens (if thats the only one you have one)?
  13. A while back Apple put a security update in its operating system that requires users to give permission for USB C or Thunderbolt connected devices to transfer data back and forth between the device and the computer. If the user did not give permission, the device could only use the USB or Thunderbolt port for battery charging. Initially, this update was only for laptops, they may have brought it over to desktop computers later. As far as I know, if the user accidentally does not give access permission, there is no easy way to reset this for a single device, but there is sort of a work-around described in the release notes: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-13-release-notes Does this help?
  14. Unless this has changed - its never been possible to revert back to a prior firmware version on Fujifilm cameras
  15. Has anyone else noticed that since one of the recent firmware updates: the GFX 100s will not connect to a Mac of any age via USB cable. I am currently on FW 2.11 on my GFX 100s. Using USB-C the camera will connect to both iOS and Windows and we can see and download image files. But now when connecting it via cable to a Mac - the camera will not show up at all. I have been reporting this to Fuji support but it has not gone anywhere for months. TIA. John
  16. Just been looking, I can't find a way to revert back to the previous version - can anyone please advise?
  17. Fixed. Thank you. The act of adding items to MY MENY activates it, then it is prioritised when you press the MENU button. I removed all the MY MENU items, which deactivated MY MENU, now the last Menu item is remembered.
  18. Hi, I plan to install the previous version today and then see how it goes. Fingers crossed.
  19. Fujifilm has changed this on the latest camers such as the X100VI - recent cameras show the behaviour you are looking for. However I don't believe you can choose the behaviour either on older or newer cameras. Older cameras will return to either the My Menu or the first item in the IQ Menu if you don't have My Menu items so removing the My Menu items may be an option for you.
  20. Seems fine over here. Just out of curiosity have you tried reverting to previous version? Different SD Card or Lens to try and isolate the problem?
  21. Thanks Chris, can you elaborate why relying on the circuitry of the camera is not favorable (asside from the convenience aforementioned)?
  22. Last week
  23. Just updated my XH2 to the latest firmware, and my camera now keeps blacking out. I can only get it to work again by taking the battery out, and back in. Anyone else have the issue?
  24. External charging is the way to go. Doesn't rely on circuitry of the camera. Also, if you shoot any length of time you're going to be swapping batteries, and you can use one while charging the other.
  25. Hello, I bought a x-s10 with 7k mechanical shots and 12 electronical. After I updated the camera from 2.6 to 3.11, my shutter count reseted to 0. Is there a way to go back? The updated might caused that?
  26. Is there a way to keep your menu selection on the last option you used? For example. When I select MENU the cursor defaults to MY Menu. I scroll up to IQ settings, make a change, and return to shooting. When I press the MENU button again the cursor is back to MY Menu. I really want it to stay on the IQ setting I was last using (or any other Menu setting). It's a PITA to keep scrolling up and down, back to the previous setting. (Note. My Canon Menu retains the position of the last option I was using). Thanks in advance for any help.
