After Firmware 2.01 update cant take RAW pictures

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate your help. I have received yesterday my Fuji XPRO2 and have done (with a formatted memory card, and a fully charged battery) a firmware upgrade for the body.

Well.... now I cant select RAW files (only FINE or NORMAL) , cant select many items of the menu (eg Film Simulation, Grain Effect, White Balance ...). I have tried it multiple times with 2 different memory cards and two different fully charged batteries.

With version 2.0 the camera worked fine. Any ideas what the problem might be? Or should I return this camera?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Check carefully in the menus, to me it looks like you might have inadvertently selected one option that is jpg-only (art filters and the like), and that's preventing you from switching to raw.

Also check the ISO dial, you might have bumped it in some sensibility only available in jpg.

In the worst case you could do a full reset just to start from scratch.

I discovered a possibly related problem in my XP2 after the update. When set to save RAW  to card slot1 and JPG to card slot2 it gives the "card 2 not initialized" error. Both cards work fine in slot 1, and both work fine in "backup" save mode shooting RAW/JPG Fine. Reformatting (in camera) does not help.
