Replacement X30 lens cap

I find the supplied X30 lens cap unwieldy and am going to source a stepping ring and then a more common clip fit style lens cap but I am having a problem establishing exactly the diameter of the thread surrounding the lens.  Can anybody help please?

I found a Fotasy UV filter and a Hama lens cap that fit perfectly at 40mm.

40mm should fit, however I have a different solution for this problem..

 

I have a  lens hood LX-JX10 which splits into two pieces, one is the so called filter adapter ( which allows a filter to be screwed in, but I don’t do that) and the other one is the lens hood which goes around it.

 

There are many like this look for the one which suits you the best.

The filter adapter screws on the lens then, on this adapter you can screw on a filter and around it the lens cap.

 

Then, instead of dismounting the lens hood every time ( and misplacing it until one day it will be lost) I simply bought a 58mm pinch lens cap and for less than €10, you have everything you need! So I no longer use the original lens cap.
