XT2, strange problem, black frames.

Hi, i recently have EXACTLY same problem. MS make just black pictures. I realized.time ago, buy day by day going worse and worse. Today I was.checkomg and almost ANY picture is OK.

Focus moves correctly with the Manual Shutter, but all pics are black. Also the video is OK. I changed to Electronic Shutter, and works fine. I'll continue testing today....

Experiencing this issue with a 6 week old xt30. MS does not work suddenly - video and ES works. Was taking one picture successfully and a milisecond later started taking black photos. Sounds like it’s functional but no luck unless using ES.

Any updates or results found to help solve this issue? 

I have purchased a 2nd hand X-T4 and now just out of the return window i have noticed it recording black images (they tend to be the first image I take after turning the camera on). I have tried everything but can't understand what's going wrong?

It sounds like the mechanical shutter is faulty and the second curtain is closing too quickly after the first operates. 

 

That would explain why the electronic shutter is ok but not the mechanical one.
