Hi all. I have a question for you X-E1 users. I wanted a xpro1 for the 'filmic' iq but here in Italy it is not easy to find one used in mint condition so I ended taking a X-E1 which will arrive in a couple of days.

My question is: is the iq of the xe1 the same as the xpro1? I read that the x-transfer 1 sensor has a very particular iq color wise. I am a jpeg shooter so I wanted to give it a try. I also own the xt1 and xt20 but have a film background and was very curious to try the original Fuji x-transfer sensor.

Can anyone confirm that?

I'd recommend to read article on dpreview , they have nice comparison of X-Pro1 and X-E1 JPEG tonal curves for different Film Simulations.

I had X-E1, X-T1, X-E2, and can confirm that X-E1 has much more pleasant shadow details and much wider dynamic range comparing to same film simulations in X-E2 and X-T1. I like X-E1 JPEG much more, but Fuji made me addicted to better performance of X-E2s viewfinder which is critical for me.

As far as I know, the X-E1 and the X-Pro1 have exactly the same sensor and processor. I have both (plus X-E2 and X-Pro2) and do like the IQ they produce but as yukosteel has already mentioned, the newer models are far superior performance wise.
