Prior to this I had a camera that would connect to my Oneplus12 (Android 15.0.0.840) via bluetooth. I did the update all appeared to be well though I didn't check the bluetooth connectivity. Then I saw the 4.3.1 bugfix update and tried to apply that through the X app ( version 2.5.1(1) ). Was told I needed to re-pair my camera. Tried to and couldn't. At the point where I have to confirm the security codes I confirm the pairing on the phone, then on the camera and the camera display sits waiting for the pairing confirmation and there's a message on the X App that tells me there was a communication error that prevented pairing. Eventually camera disconnects from phone. If I try confirming the camera then the phone I end up in the same place. I've deleted and reinstalled the app, restarted the phone. Nothing seems to make any difference.

I did the update to 4.3.1 via SD card and nothing appears to have changed W.R.T bluetooth.

Any ideas?

Regards X100VI firmware update 1.31.there are Bluetooth problem since the recent  update. I have an Oppo Find X8 Pro which  runs on colour OS, my version is 15.0.0.840

I paired my Fujifilm X100VI seamlessly on the old firmware and was amazed how firmware could be upgraded through Bluetooth/WiFi using an app as my Lumix, Sony, Nikon FF gear was the usual download update, ectract bin file. Copy to formatted card, fully charged battery and update through menu.

Upgraded to a new firmware with ease some months ago when first getting X100VI. Had to reset phone without unpairing, another issue with Google pay. Unrelated.

Reconnected camera to my Oppo, saw notification about firmware update in last 10 days. Upgraded to the latest through Bluetooth/WiFi direct.. Took a while but was successfully updated. Then I have to re-pair the phone, now it says to remove the previous device X100VI, so I follow procedure to forget the previous pairing. However it doesn't get rid of it and I ended up doing reset network settings on camera. Didn't work either. Then I did a factory reset of the entire camera which is a pain as you have to set up the whole thing again and I didn't really back up my settings. Anyway, this also didn't work so I ended up doing another factory reset of my Oppo phone. After setting that up, the problem is still there. Can't get rid of the original pairing. Huge disappointment, loads of time wasted to no avail.

I'm in Australia so I've got on to Fujifilm Aus. The representative was fantastic and he walked me through all the trouble shooting steps. Exhausted all avenues and had to accept defeat. He did mention that a lot of people had contacted them and were having issues since this new firmware upgrade. So we can only hope that they might do another firmware patch to fix the problem or update Fujifilm X App. I am almost ready to sell this camera after these dramas. Considering maybe going back to Sony, Nikon, Lumix (2nd Gen). All pricey stuff.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers

You have to delete the device (camera) in the phone's bluetooth settings first, then it can be removed in the X-App.

The pal2tech bloke goes over some of the confusing and non-intuitive stuff in this video

The suggestions in the video are not helping, there is a compatibility issues  recognised by Fuji, here the support reply I received:

"There is a known issue with IOS 18+ and oneplus operating systems, the app is currently incompatible with those versions, the development team is working on an updated version which should be available soon."

I have Oppo but the base sw is the same as OnePlus.

Thx

If that's true this is great news.
I just bought my fujifilm x-t50 yesterday! only to find out I cannot connect it to my oneplus 13!

if they really told you this is something they intend to fix, and not some EU regulation thing this is great

Hello, I have exactly the same problem since upgrading to firmware 1.31.

The Bluetooth connection with my Realme GT7 phone is no longer working (Android 15).

I confirm the same code on my phone but the X-t50 does not receive the validation, which I validated on the phone. I have tried many times and it is the same failure.

Why is Fujifilm not reacting? If only we could go back to the previous firmware...

Hi Maestro56

Many thanks for your feedback. I ended up selling my oppo find X8 Pro running Colour OS 15, and have since bought the latest Galaxy s25 Edge. I have no issues connecting it to Samsung with the latest 1.31 update on my X100VI. Also I have no issues connecting to my Galaxy S21+, iPad 10.9 running iOS 18+, and also no issues connecting to my Azus Zenfone 11 Ultra Gaming phone,Android 15. This proves that it is not an issue with Fujifilm but with Chinese phones running color OS or equivalent.

Do let me know what operating system you are running?

Cheers

Ian

Hi Maestro56

Many thanks for your reply. I do believe after careful analysis and a process of elimination, that the issue lies with Chinese Rom's. I would say that a firmware update with Oppo, OnePlus, Realme will very possibly iron this issue out, or a Fujifilm firmware update may also solve the problem. I have been in communication with Fujifilm Australia, and gone through everything with the representative who was most helpful.

Cheers

Yes it is most definitely a compatibility issue. The problem I was having was it was trying to connect through the Bluetooth process and when it sends you a code that matches on your phone and your camera, I would press the ok on the camera and the phone would say delete X100VI before you can repair it, so I deleted it out of Bluetooth. However, it does not delete it through the app and continues to present a problem.

It connects through the Bluetooth setting on the phone (X100VI) but the correct process, pairing through the Fujifilm X app, will not pair.

As explained there is no issue connecting to my iPad running IOS 18.6, Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, and ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra.

Cheers

Yes it is most definitely a compatibility issue.

I use the X-App to geolocate my photos. Or I did until this.

It's unfortunate that this problem is related to Bluetooth comms, but for testing changes in that area you'd have expected them to have used a wider range of phones as part of beta test. However, we are where we are. All the more reason then to allow users the opportunity to back out firmware that breaks their systems.

On the Fuji support web site the firmware update instructions don't come with a health warning for OnePlus, Oppo and Realme phone users so they don't end up in the situation we are in.

Waiting for a fix, not holding my breath.

It's incredible that after nearly one month is not solved yet, embarrassing I would say.

Yup. It's not a good look. Of course, depending on the precise problem it's probably forced them to completely redo all of their alpha, beta, system and acceptance testing for bluetooth support for IOS, Samsung etc as well as the Oneplus/Oppo stable. So TBH I doubt we'll see anything until the end of September, they won't want to rush it and bork IOS or Samsung support.

Hi everybody

I noticed today the 2nd of September 2025 that there was a Playstore update to Fujifilm X app.

Since my Oppo is now gone, it would be interesting to see if there is any luck with Oppo/OnePlus/Realme or equivalent Chinese Roms. Do let me know.

I don't think we can say that it's Chinese Rom's, Fujifilm X-App or the Firmware update/s to Fujifilm. Rather an incompatibility issue somewhere with all 3 parties. Check phone updates,  & Playstore updates and of course camera firmware updates. Have spent hours and hours with processes of elimination and even reset my X100 VI, my Oppo so no need to reset phone or cameras. It's so annoying. We will get to the root of this..

Cheers

Just updated on my Oppo Find X5 Pro and still the same problem. It's definitely a firmware issue on Fujifilm's part because it stopped working after updating to the latest firmware update.

I've given up on Fujifilm and bought one of these SD card to USB C which I can just plug straight into my phone and transfer files. It's much faster than the garbage X app and doesn't lag at all.

Au revoir X app. See you again never.
