Hey,

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced strange AUTO choices from the X100 vi?

I exclusively use the camera in Aperture Priority, I wont be doing any manual shooting because I want the camera to remain a fast point and shoot that that captures candid moments (I'm using it as a C-cam on a documentary film shoot where it'll hang around my neck while I'm dealing with 2 professional cinema cameras).

When in Aperture priority I have noticed that the Auto selection for ISO is ISOA2 and even when pointed at a bright sky it will select 3200 (see image), which is crazy.

I've also noticed that the fastest the shutterspeed will go to in in this mode is 2000ss (despite having capability of 4000ss), and the 2000 is maxed out in red colour on the LCD display.

This means I can't shoot wide open at f2 in daylight without the image blowing out highlights, in fact I can't even shoot at f8 properly.  I want to be able to use the exposure compensation dial so that I can expose to the right or left when I want, but with the setting's right now the camera's super limited.

I've obviously made an error somewhere in my settings, but I've had a good play around and I can't see what I've done wrong?!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Greybeard - you're a legend.

Thank you so much for taking the time.

I've changed to Electronic Shutter and it solves the issue.  Didn't realise the mechanical was limited to 2000ss.

And yes, you're correct about the ISO too.

Thanks again!

If you change to ms+es it will change on it's own when necessary
