Hello all.

My XT-5 started having this issue around 6 months ago and it has been getting worse.

When I am shooting in aperture priority the shutter speed sometimes slips to go to 1/8000 nor 1/4000. then it flicks back. This is physical bc the actual command dial is locked in place and doesn't move. So it's digitally thinking that it moves it. Obviously it makes it a real pain when shooting bc it'll will all be fine and then suddenly way too dark bc it's on 1/8000. I have updated firm ware etc but nothing has changed.

wondering if any one has had this issue before too?

thanks

Just check that you haven't accidentally changed metering mode to Spot.

Whenever I've had odd and changeable metering/exposure behaviour, I've found I'd accidentally gone to spot metering.

@pw-pix yes I see how that could happen. In this instance though it's not that the camera thinks it should always be at 1/8000 it's that it think I turned the shutter speed dial from A to 1/8000 even if I haven't touched it so then to turn it back to A which is technically already is in I need to move the shutter dial off and then back onto A. This can happy multiple times each time I'm composing a shot.
