Hi. I'm having problems with the light Metering dial on my XT-3 (nr 19 on this picture https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-t3/about_this_camera/parts/index.html).

When I change the light metering mode nothing happens. The LCD display always show average mode "[ ]", and the actual light metering doesn't change.

  • Firmware 5.11 (latest version).
  • Camera is reset to factory settings.
  • The ISO dial is set to Auto.
  • The Shutter speed dial is set to Auto.
  • Exposure compensation dial is set to 0.
  • FACE/EYE detection is off according to “The selected option will only take effect when GAF/MF SETTING > FACE/EYE DETECTION SETTING is FACE OFF/EYE OFF.” (https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-t3/taking_photo/photometry/index.html)

Is there another setting that possibly could cause this issue? Or is the camera/light metering simply broken?

Any advice/thoughts/ideas highly appreciated.

If face/eye detection is off you should be able to see the [ ] symbol change, even if other display settings are preventing you from seeing the current exposure.
One more possible cause is the Lock function under button/dial setting, but if you reset everything to factory default none of those would be active.
