Turn off the camera and turn on again

I have X-T5 and 33mm f1.4 lens.
Suddenly I started receiving this message. When I try to focus the message appears and the moving part in the lens starts moving if I tilt and move the camera as the focusing magnet stops working. When I restart the camera it works again for a short period of time but then it happens again. It's almost guaranteed to happen if it's harder to obtain focus, like shooting into the light etc. What could be the issue here?

I had the same issue with my X-T20 with a kit lens. I never had the issue with any other lens. I put that kit lens on my X-T5 and started getting the same message. In my case the kit lens was the issue. I went through cleaning the contacts and nothing worked. I would suggest trying other lenses (if possible) to verify the lens.

In my case, the other lens is the kit lens and it works.

I sent the faulty lens for repairs.

Had same issue with my XT4 and 33 f1.4 lens. It seems like linear motor is more of a downgrade from fuji than upgrade. Constantly causing reliability issues to customers, motors are driven magnetically which only gets magnetised when camera is turned on.

 

 

myne was giving same error occasionally. Later at some point It fucked up my XT4 IBIS too which was quoted ₹47500 for repair and lens also broke completely which costed me ₹18200 for repair.

 

 

Switching from Sony to Fujifilm I feel the build quality in fujifilm is much inferior and less reliable. 
 

 

 

been using XH2S now, build feels robust, but only the time will tell.

Here w/o a solution, just the same problem ...
X-T30 w/ my Super EBC XF 18-55mm 1:2.8-4 R LM OIS lens ...

I know it's going to happen because it sounds like the AF is stuck on the lense and then it asks to be shut down and turned on again. It typically happens when I am taking a lot of photos quickly ... today I was shooting a 10 mile run and the camera spit out this message maybe 10 times.
