Make sure the camera lens is set to A for aperture priority, also A on the shutter speed dial for shutter priority, and P should show on the screen. If it doesn't, click menu, go to the wrench/spanner, screen set-up, and scroll down to Large Indicators Mode, and switch LCD & EVF on. That should now show the P mode on screen.

Without looking at the screen, and just looking at the switches and dials on the body, you'll know what mode you are in when you switch the camera on, if its set as stated above, if that makes sense. See link below for clarity..

Thank you, tried all of that with no effect....I did a camera/shooting restart and got everything to default setting, and wooh behold there it is, a nice big P.

Thank you for your time and advice...I'm sure I will return at a later date with other questions...

p.s I'm new to Fuji
