When I realized that it is possible to geotag images with the app Fujifilm Cam remote in your phone I was happy. When I tried to use it I became rather unhappy. Maybe I am doing something wrong, or maybe I dreamed up a scenario to far from reality (most likely). If the latter is the case, I hope that Fuji is listening - because I think I am not the only one wanting it.

So what is it I want? With the XT2 and the Iphone connected, I want every picture I take to grab the coordinates from the GPS in the Iphone that sits in my pocket, and insert them as a Geotag in the Exif-information picture by picture.

I can get the XT2 and the Iphone connected, but the connection is normally lost within a short - often before I had a chance to take a picture. And I have so far not been able to have even one Geotag included in the Exif-information.

The other things that can be done with the app and XT2 - looking at pictures, remote control, etc.. works - but thats not what I want most.

What do I do wrong? or am I dreaming?

I can't speak to your experience with the iPhone, but as soon as I saw this Thread I went to Google Play and grabbed the 'Fujifilm Camera Remote' for Android and installed in in my LG4.

Still experimenting at this point - it seems capable of a number of different functions (but isn't exactly intuitive the way it's set up) but for sure with the Wireless setting turned on in the X-T2 the camera immediately added accurate geotagging information to the next photo I took ... which was of my phone, go figure ...

With the app and a wireless connection, you can transfer the current location to the camera. That's all. The next pictures you take, will have these coordinates. Finally, the coordinates will be used for the next 3 hours or until you transfer new coordinates.

There is no "continuous" transfer of coordinates and of course, your coordinates won't be very exact if you are moving (e.g. through a park or city). But it is in my opinion a pretty good "workaround" as long as no gps receiver is integrated into the camera.

Hope this helps you a bit.

    • Im a Uni Student so im looking for a cheap camera primarily hahaha  I’m interested in if I could potentially fix it but idk maybe too risky. But the price is tempting tbh but couldn’t find any fixes or other people with the same problem  also: what exactly might be wrong with it and how fixable could it be
    • Is this an interesting project or are you looking for a cheap camera? Sounds risky to me but if the condition is otherwise perfect you might be able to sell it on for spares.
    • Hi everyone, I have the opportunity to buy a used Fujifilm X-T10 for around €100, possibly even way less than €100, but the body has a defect that I’d like to evaluate before making a decision. Here’s the issue: Whenever you try to manually adjust the shutter speed or aperture, the camera freezes for about 30+ seconds. In around 90% of cases, the photo won’t be taken at all. However, the camera works perfectly fine in fully automatic mode. The lenses have already been tested on another body – they work flawlessly, so it seems the issue is definitely with the body. I haven’t been able to test the camera myself yet, but from what I understand, the problem mainly affects manual adjustments (e.g. via the front or top dials). My questions: Has anyone experienced this issue before? Could it just be a faulty control dial or a bad contact, or am I potentially looking at a more serious electronics issue? Is it worth buying and repairing the camera, or is the risk too high?  Edit: Is it a high chance for a mainboard defect? Because if it isn’t the mainboard I eventually would try to fix bad contacts or a broken flex cable for example.  Thanks a lot in advance! at
    • I can't find a solution to get HSS working on my GFX 100 II. I'm using Elinchrom Five flashes with the transmitter pro for Fujifilm. Both are supposed to support HSS, and everything works fine on my Canon R5 (with the transmitter pro for Canon). With the GFX 100 II, I can't figure out how to fix the issue of the shutter curtain being visible above 1/125s. I'm using the latest firmware versions for all equipment. I've tried the shutter modes EF, M+E, and EF+E. I've also set the flash mode to manual and to Auto FP (HSS), but nothing works. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?
