focus area Focus Area roams - how to stop

I'm using GFX 100S which I've recently acquired.

Help!!  After I've centered and set the focus area, when I go back to shooting, the focus area has migrated to the bottom or bottom left area of the screen.  Sometimes this happens when I turn the camera off then on; sometimes, immediately.  Moving the focus stick has no effect on this.  To correct this I've got to go back into the menus, select focus area, then hit Back or push the focus stick in.  But it doesn't remain in position. 

Why is this happening and how to I stop it?  Thank you.

Touch screen focus maybe?

Not sure what you mean.  I don't think it's because I'm touching the screen.
