With electronic shutter eliminating the mechanical wear penalty of time lapse, it would be amazing to capture some long and smooth time lapses.  My 64 GB SD card can fit almost 10k Fine JPEGs.  Then I see the 999 shot limit.  This is just dumb.

I've found some subject matter that looks jittery if you spread out more than 2 seconds per shot.  That gives you a whole 33 minutes of realtime.  Almost useless for time lapse.  I don't understand the limit.  Enough screen space for the UI.  Implement it with one digit scrolling like the time.  It would take a whole 4 more bits to store the value.  Which is free because they are already 16 bit intergers already, I'm sure.   The only thing I can figure is that Fuji wanted to limit the exposure count in case someone is using mechanical shutter.  But you could force electronic to be enables to unlock the higher digit or something.

Running electronic shutter gives you such a wide range of exposures that you can have a great full sun through night transition with 1/32000 through 1 sec of exposure.

Is there any way to get past the 999 limit of shots without resorting to an external device?

I have an XT1, and sometimes it goes past the 999 limit, I have no idea why, or what I am doing to make it do so...

Does anyone know what the remote shutter release cable circuit is for the Super mini stereo jack? I have a remote shutter release (Meyin cheapy) for my GH2, however, although the X-T10 picks up I plugged a cable release in, the remote shutter release does not work with it, which leads me to believe the trip circuit is different to that of the GH2.

I've been unable to find a intervalometer for the X-T10 except for the RR-99, however that plug is a LOT less secure. I know there is a built in intervalometer, however this is useless once you want to combine the camera with a slider. The slider needs to control the shutter release.

Anyone know if Fujifilm technical is contactable directly regarding?

Alternatively, does anyone know if there is an API or the like which will allow a third party app to talk to the camera (releasing the shutter) via wireless?

    • Anyone out there have any experience/feedback on the Laowa 55 mm tilt shift? I’d be using it on the GFX 50s ii.
    • Hi, I'm researching a gimbal to get someone as a present & they use a Fuji XS-10. I did a quick search of previous threads on gimbals but all of them seem to either get no replies or spammed by a link to an Amazon list. I'd appreciate any comments from folks who've actually used specific gimbals with the XS-10. I'm aware that some, such as certain models from Zhiyun, DJI & FeiyuTech either don't say that they are fully compatible with the XS-10 but other sites say they do work ok but some functions don't. It's quite difficult to work out which functions work & which don't. Thanks.

    • This was snapped during a lunch.  Total shooting time—a few seconds. We so often read that a proper "portrait" should be snapped with a longer than normal lens, a low ISO to get lots of detail, and have a soft light held up above the head, and slightly to the side. The key, in my opinion, is always carry a camera.  Have your camera available to capture candid, authentic photographs.  Available light, no posing.   This portrait used 2000 ISO, the lens wide open at f4, and 1/100 sec. to stop any movement.  I didn't even take time to compose—I just snapped.  I leave the "Face Detection" on unless I'm photographing a landscape or subject other than a person. The GFX100RF has the equivalent of a 28mm lens.  The large sensor renders fine detail even at fairly high ISO ratings.  And the drawing of the lens is just perfect in my opinion.  It was set to B & W, with slightly reduced sharpness and clarity (set in-camera).  Ideal for "portraits."  Now, for some subjects I will likely increase the sharpness and clarity to the normal setting.  The camera is new, and I'm still experimenting with it.
